@lsains join the facebook group freelanderss owners club and freelander owners club (sales page) there are some brakers who brake freelanders and may help you with sourcing parts although shipping will still be slightly expensive to ship certain parts. Also I'd try getting hold of a pair of...

@Nodge68 can't help in that. Hope you sort it out sooun. Also Have found one of the bumpstops laying in the garage today when cleaning. Probbably that's why the driverside has not knocked since installing new shocks. Should I leave it or re install it? Will be working again on the freelander...

    another day another knock

Not a bad idea @Madmustang. Btw both topmounts I used are new from same make 'Monroe' but came in different boxes. From same local supplier. Could be a different batch. In fact used old washer on driver side just like the left side but without any probs or knocking. Don't know if this may apply...

@teddywood1 thanks. That's the point of a forum after all. Hate it when you see a post and some suggestions for a problem and then nothing. No feedback. Hope this can help someone next time.

    another day another knock

Found the culprit of the horrible knocking. Lip on top mount bearing is slightly higher than the origional ones (aprox 1.5mm) nd washer between the bumpstop and topmount was knocking on the bearing lip. Found marks on washer and metal dust inside bearing. A smaller washer sorted out the problem.

I think I'll wait for the bush kit and replace all bushes including to ones on the wish bones. could it be the bushes are worn and causing the knock? could be the old shocks where absorbing the sound but new ones may be stiffer and enhancing the knock. may sound stupid but out of ideas at the...

That's also an option But leaving it for later. Just replaced the nuts at the top mounts with nylon lock nuts. And re tightened them as much as I can. Noise seems gone but will have to give it some time before I can celebrate.

Drove it back from work and from what I can hear, if I'm going over a speed bump and the suspention is compressed, its fine. the knock is comming when the front left suspention opens back.
