    Defender 110 200TDi chassis

the rear cross member is an easy to change thingy if you are not interested in getting out your welder. generally, if there's rot, there's sure to be other spots you've missed. check if the vehicle chassis is muddy. if it is, prolly some good washing will reveal more. surface rust is not a...

    110 Rear Axle Problem

Not that i know off, but it's good to check it out if they are interchangable, which i believe so. I know what you mean, cos i've a 02 def90 and the axle seems like it's all 'sealed' up as compared to the older one which have some kinda backplate or cover.

front or rear wheel drive?. only drives in 4 wheel drive but with 2 wheels powered!

The 90 and 110 are full time 4 wheel drive as mentioned in the earlier posting. the small knob (transfer box) has 6 positions. High range - diff unlocked (this is used in most driving condition. back & right) High range - diff locked (simple words; split power equal to both axel. back &...

    1/10th or 1/8th scale Defender 90/110?

http://www.difflock.com/family/rebelreplicas/index.shtml How abt the 1/2 scale models, they certaintly are larger and easier to make 'modifications'.

    aftermarket body coloured wheel arches?

yes they are. just becareful not to crack the mounting holes around the 'removable riverts' on the wheel arches. get them spray painted and just pop them back. nice. how abt body coloured alloys with an edge trim colour. yup, i did that on mine. looks really unique but watch the scratches.

    Leaking 90

Pardon me if i got it wrong, the bulkhead is refered to as just the lower section, up to where the A frame for the windshield meets. it comprises of the footwells. the entire framing for the wind shield is detatchable from the bulk head. if you look carefully just around the bottom corners of...

    Leaking 90

i have this problem even on a 2002 Td5 defender 90!! but not to the extend of flooding. hee hee. I'm one whom will defy the 'all land rover leak' statement and seek to plug every possible leak. ok, 1. the cornner just where the gutter meets the windscreen. aka just under the edge of the...

    defender wiper trouble!

Your landie says she needs a new wiper motor. Hee hee. yup, do check if they are properly fitted. If they've always been working and only of late this problem is exhibited, maybe you need a new motor. Andrew

Air conditioning and plastic nudge bars

Hi Eric, I can't seem to find an online catalogue of the original accessories. I'll be going(hopefully if my work allows me time) to the local LR part dealer maybe next week, I'd go check the catalogue and let you know. Maybe the LR dealer in Spain can help you out a little? Not sure if...

if i didn't remember wrongly, you could check the original defender accessory catalogue and they'll mention the WARN winch might be the xd9000. can't remember the model. the information on the A bars are also there.

19 J Td Lift Pump - Fuel Supply/ Air Problem

i have this problem on my SIII. what i do is just to park facing down or on a level ground and it fires everytime. might be the lift pump as there is air in the fuel lines. try again parking facing up with a full tank. it should be startable.

Air conditioning and plastic nudge bars

if you got the original rubber defender A bar you see in the picture. it does acomodate the air con radiator. there are 2 flavours to that, one for a winch and the other without. In the same picture is the one that doesn't support winch installation. in the averstone red one, there is factory...

ha ha, it's just like in the days of the Series landies, after a while you'd be able to time it just right to park the wipers.

HELP: Transfer box stuck in neutral....

I'm not too sure, but the Td5 owners handbook says, step on clutch before doing anything to that lever. mine is pretty stiff cos i seldom move it, but what i usually do is, clutch in, shift from high to neutral, release clutch, step again and push into low, you should hear a sound somthing...

    Leaking 300 Tdi

Other places to check are the point where the threading of the two thumb screws go. Due to various modification i can't be very sure if there's any 'hole' for wires going thru above the box. you have to look around and see. If not, then the water is coming in from above where the windshield sits...

    Leaking 300 Tdi

yup, most likely the rubber is off it's seat or something. maybe a little silicon might help it, cos i think that it's easier than changing the rubber. it's the fuse box in the middle or the smaller one under the driver seat? not sure if the Tdi has this, but the Td5 has another one around...

    Wheels/tyres

16" seems to be more common. Which means tyres are much more common to source around for and they don't need to have such a high profile. 17" will be a bit costly in terms of the tyres. pehaps higher profile on smaller rims might be of more use when off roading. Since you're usually on...

    TD5 Snorkel and Aquatic fun

the original land rover snorkel is the mantec snorkel which does exactly the same thing as the safari one. personally, i prefer the looks of the safari one and i'm going to get that up on my Td5. The mantec one is supposedly cheaper. you need the wading plugs as well to be on the safe side...
