They are a very friendly and knowledgable bunch - competitive and good advice on price/quality balance. On occasions I've been known to have my own seat at the parts counter and a mug of tea thrust my way.....! (touch wood not had that many failures / needs for a while.....!). A
No - I think most of the thinking public see these Apps and black boxes for the gross intrusion that they are. I too suspect they will be 'mandated' in our own interests of course over a fairly short period.

Mine def has one wide 'key' spline which will only fit in one place (in the matching wide slot!) so idiot proof - just as well with me anywhere near it.... A
+1 - it will be firing on 3 cylinders which aint going to be smooth..... Had 2 duff glow plugs on my TD5 a while back, simple to check and replace and major improvement on pre-heat and starting. Enjoy. A

Seller should certainly be first port of call, but an RAC warranty is probably worth more to back up any repairs that are covered... Cheers, A
Yep, every opportunity! Spent a happy weekend at the Warwickshire Scout jamboree thing last Summer with 5 or 6 of us reckon we trugged about 300 kids round a gentle off road course....
As for safety......endless hours as a small kid with 4 or 5 of us loose in the back of a mini pickup round...
Nothing dearer to my heart, but I let them ride motorbikes, horses, and skydive, cycle, cross the road...... Boy do I drive carefully, but never a moment doubt about sitting them in there. Each to their own as I said... Cheers A
My 5 children from very early ages have traveled in the side facing seats of a series of 110 Csw's, and oddly not killed or injured any of them yet...... I entirely agree lap belts and side facing are not at all ideal from a safety and injury perspective, but we do a variety of other pastimes...

For all sorts of daft reasons I went for a LR genuine Xmember, needed long 'legs' to address rusted chassis rails too, and had little choice of fitter (won't be going back....their prep was awful, with masses of rust on 1 year old...
I had a 'factory' rebuilt LT77 box on a previous Defender (crumbling first gear or some such, can't remember now), but I was warned it would be stiff for a few hundred miles........ Ye Gods! Stiff! It was a major workout to get ready for each change and a good long breather afterwards - but...
