Finally got around on replacing the other shaft and top engine mount. can't belive the difference after. smoothest ride ever. shaft was easy to replace with propper tools, but top engine stabilizer mount was a nightmare.

ok here are the promised photos: The 1st imagi is the finished doorcard. the rest were taken while replacing the fabric. sorry but they are not step by step.

have you tried replacing the contacts inside the starter relay? had same thing happening on mine. bought a kit from ebay at 15gbp and installed it 1 hr job. problem solved. old contacts where almost perished and un even and plunger would sometimes not bridge the contacts and close the circuit...

did mine a week or two ago and turned out great. use a heat resistent adhesive and spray on the door card. leave for a few seconds to settle and then place the cloth. don't spray on the cloth or hush putting the cloth on the adhesive or the glue will soak in the fabric and will be permanently...

hammer and chissel did the trick on mine. then replace plug and copper washer. replace drain plug id it looks slightly damaged to avoid same happening next time.

Not exactly. The old shafts where knocking randomly and had damaged boots. Replaced boot and grease but remained the same. So next got after market shafts. Installed and vibration started. Now took shaft off and put the old one in after re greasing and in the meantime replaced lower mount...

Heres a pic of the after market inner cv. Not sure if can br seen but that's where my shaft was hiiitng the edges.

In my case the lower engine mount defenetley had a role in all this as I had already tried re greasing and replacing inner boot on older shaft but still kept knocking randomley. Now its the same shaft with same cvs and grease and not a single knock.

Almost. Have replaced the near side shaft back with my old one, new boot and re greased and most of the vibration is gone. Will be replacing the other one when I have chance. Upon inspecting the aftermarket one I can se that the shaft was hitting on the outer inner edged of the inner cv cup...

Will try to find a set of used shafts locally if possible. Any one knows if they have any markings that should be alligned if inner cv joint to the other cup shaped part that goes inside the ird in case rubber bellow is damaged and needs replacing?

Just re greased one of the drive shafts with no difference so guess the drive shaft is the issue.
