    D3 Discovery 3 - Suspension Problem & Hawkeye Total

Just checked it after 5 hours and still exactly the same heights all round. I won't get a chance to remove the F26 fuse as going out, but I won't be starting or running it either so will that matter? If I do pull the f26 fuse and run it - will it stay at its current height, and will it have...

    D3 Discovery 3 - Suspension Problem & Hawkeye Total

Heights after 15 mins switched off are, with 255/60/18 tyres, and ground to underside of wheel arch centre; Front N/s 805mm Front O/s 810mm Rear N/s 835mm and rear o/s 850mm (note it is on slight downwards sloping drive and I have not checked tyre pressures) Should it hold this for how long I...

    D3 Discovery 3 - Suspension Problem & Hawkeye Total

Update: Managed to get a J type fuse just now (Big up Halfords open Boxing Day :)) and fitted fuse - and everything started happening. I asked it to raise and screen said something about raising - I could hear the compressor when outside the car, quite faint mind - I expected it to be a...

    D3 Discovery 3 - Suspension Problem & Hawkeye Total

Thanks. Thats busy isn't it haha - Still, I can gather the red and black look simple enough. Reading elsewhere it may be that fuse has blown not because of a short but perhaps because its been overworked, a leak possibly. If it was a leak, would the system not have collapsed somewhere or be on...

    D3 Discovery 3 - Suspension Problem & Hawkeye Total

Thanks - That chart will be handy, I suppose the main feed will be fairly meaty with a 60a fuse.

    D3 Discovery 3 - Suspension Problem & Hawkeye Total

Yup thanks - thats the one. I'll get a couple but clearly its gone because of a short or bad compressor. Looking at the site it appears wiring problems are abound so a short to something likely, if I disconnect the pump and try that first I suppose its the only thing likely to be in the system...

    D3 Discovery 3 - Suspension Problem & Hawkeye Total

Thats great! I just tried Halfords in the vain hope they may still be open - but xmas eve at 6.45pm was rather optimistic eh. I can't swap any about as the others are all lower, 40amp etc, so I'll have to be patient I suppose and leave it until after Christmas. Either way i'll report back on...

    D3 Discovery 3 - Suspension Problem & Hawkeye Total

Thats very generous and much appreciated. I've had a couple of Defenders and a couple of D2's so I've been around the block with a few issues and can wield a spanner on occasion - nothing too heavy duty mind. However, I usually research this stuff before wading in as you can't beat experience...

    D3 Discovery 3 - Suspension Problem & Hawkeye Total

Hello Gary, FL26 is fine, FL5 my board is empty but on the lid it shows a pic of an engine with electric flash through that one. So I checked any that had a pic of the car moving up and found one of the slow blow fuses, 60 amp, in position fl10, is blown..

Ah great - something to get my teeth into thank you. No, I've not checked those fuses but I can do that pretty quick. The cables on the comp I'll have to check over next few days - If I start fiddling with that now I'll get murdered for not helping out with Chrimbo haha

    D3 Discovery 3 - Suspension Problem & Hawkeye Total

No I bought it private. Would you know if the cables you mentioned that chafe, if I rummage about is it likely it may start and stop or is it a case of once identified by the system as an error it stops even trying? I was expecting to pull off some plugs and check for power to the compressor...

    D3 Discovery 3 - Suspension Problem & Hawkeye Total

its a 2006 Auto. I just searched youtube and saw someone bench test one - it sounded like a conventional tyre compressor, certainly nothing going on like that on mine

    D3 Discovery 3 - Suspension Problem & Hawkeye Total

I tried listening to the compressor, )by the nearside rear tyre?) and don't think anything is happening - I can hear noises around the car of stuff going on but sounds like fuel pump perhaps and electrical components whining but as I've not heard one of these compressors going would it be...

    D3 Discovery 3 - Suspension Problem & Hawkeye Total

Hello & thanks Just got it, and was aware of the issue, so my first experience of it but to answer your questions.. 1/ Don't think so - I saw it yesterday and got it today - It doesnt move when you start it up though if that helps. On driving its not on the bottom, feels quite normal - very...

    D3 Discovery 3 - Suspension Problem & Hawkeye Total

Hi All, I have a D3 with a suspension issue - it says on the dash Suspension Fault - Normal Ride Height Only. My question is, should/can a Hawkeye identify any specific issues with that and is the Hawkeye Total I've read about on a search here the right bit of kit to buy - will it plug...
