I have just bought a Gates thermostat to fit and now I am wondering if it’s worth doing? My TD4 stays low temperature but tbh it has never really bothered me that much, just thought it might be a good idea…?

Changed the air filter as had one I bought earlier. Cleaned up the engine a bit, cleaned the injector and hpfr sensor and sealed them with dielectric grease. Seems to keep it happy

It looks in the pictures like he has unscrewed the bit from the engine. So cut the clip off and leave the plastic bit in place? Ta

Mine is going for it’s first MOT for about 3 years on Friday so I am going to see what needs doing before I do anything else. It’s been off the road for 2 and a half years so I have done what was obvious but who knows what problems it will develop this week while waiting…

I expect you are right. It doesn’t seem right to have a 2wd 4wd but I have taken mine off as I have got to do the bearings and I may as well do the UJ’s at the same time. If the car decides to behave itself and work for a while with nothing else falling off or going wrong I will put it back on...

Leave it off and see how you get on. If it’s ok why bother? It’s a pain in the bum to put on.

Yes I left the handbrake off. It’s been covered up and seems like it hasn’t suffered too much. I am thinking the battery in it will be useless now so have to get a new one?

Hi all! My TD4 Freelander 1 has been standing for 2 years. I need a new battery but what else will I need to do to start it? It was running fine when I wrapped it up and er had to go away.
