    EGR Removed still need help

If you follow it back it goes to a valve type thing (mounted near the jack?) which has two other pipes and a plug on it. One of the pipes goes to the air box the other to the main vacuum line (somewhere by the servo i think), remove the pipes and plug the air box and vacuum line, disconnect the...

    EGR Removed still need help

Sorry just read your post again, do you mean the very thin black pipe (if so see above) or the pipe that goes into the top air hose? If it's the latter you need to bank it off or get a new top hose from a earlier disco (without the EGR). Jon.

    EGR Removed still need help

Blank it off (use a bit of metal or plastic bar pushed into the end), it is the vacuum feed that opens the EGR valve, without blanking it you'll be venting your vacuum to atmosphere (only at certain times when the EGR would be open) I'm not sure but it could affect other things like the brake...

HELP Time ruuing out. Stiff Gearstick

Ok this may not be much help as mine is a 300 tdi (1998) don't know if the gearbox is the same. Mine stopped springing back to center but was quite loose, there are two springs and a metal plate located on top of the gearbox (access is from inside by removing the center console). The metal...

    Your Thoughts

As I understand it the EGR opens under certain conditions (over run, light throttle, etc) and allows a quantity of the exhaust gas to be re-burnt in the engine. This is designed to lower the NOX emissions (not part of the MOT). If it's working correctly you shouldn't notice any drop in...

    anti 4x4 brigade!!!!!!!!

Alliance Against Urban 4x4s = GET A JOB !!! It's all very well saying get rid of the chelsea tractor brigade, I personally don't see the point in people having them to drop the kids off either (I used to drive a Renault Espace which in some respects was a much more practical vehicle...

    Bloody red tape (tow bar)

Just wan't to stay legal in case the worst happens, like the trailer comes off, ok it's not going to happen but you just know the fuss insurance will make if the tow bars not approved. Was thinking of designing one similar to the southdown one but without the tank guard. When I havn't got...

    Bloody red tape (tow bar)

Ok, so I wan't to take off my current tow bar (the plough) and fit a removable one. Ideally i'd design & fabricate my own but failing that the one from Scorpion or Southdown would do (scorpion one dosn't look that strong & southdown one looks too damn heavy & expensive). The problem is that...

Landrover td 300 spot lamp wiring help

Just like yella says for the wiring, the part numbers for the swiches you might wan't to use are, Front lights - AMR4138 front fog switch (same as already fitted on an XS) Work lights - AMR3751 rear fog switch (latching type) Later models have AMR5178 (rear fog switch) fitted which is...

Any effing idea what this is?

That's a resistor, must have been wired for dim-dip, when side lights are on and engine is running the dip beam comes on at about half brightness.

    300 tdi cat

Removed mine a couple of weeks ago, the engine revs a little easier now but not by a massive amount. The engine is now a little louder and the exhaust note a bit more throaty. I havn't noticed any increase in smoke. I used the early disco pipe which is the same minus the cat (still has the...

Rebuilt swivels, leaking at ABS sensor

Jason2, Go for it, its got to be easier than stripping it all down. You're seal may be shot from rubbing over the pitted bits, so best thing is replace the seal the easy way by cutting it at the top (plenty of threads about it on here), not the best way of doing things but if done...

Rebuilt swivels, leaking at ABS sensor

discomania, The inner hub seal is quite easy to get at (as long as your brake pipes arn't siezed up), basicly take off the brake calliper, remove drive flange, undo wheel bearings, pull off hub, relpace rear seal, regrease bearings, put hub back on, do up wheel bearings (box spanner is about...

Rebuilt swivels, leaking at ABS sensor

No I just got the parts I needed. My bearings and pins are fine but I replaced all the seals. I would replace them, don't know it the filler would hold up well enough but you could give it a go, only thing is if it dosn't work you've got to do it all over again and get new balls anyway...

    All Terrain?

I swapped my road tyres for bfg at's about three months ago. I've not noticed any increase in noise, the handling seems to be unaffected but I do notice that the abs cuts in a fraction earlier in the wet, as for mpg I noticed a slight drop maybe 2 mpg less but the weather was getting colder at...

Rebuilt swivels, leaking at ABS sensor

Hi Jason Cured the leak on the abs seal with a spot of silicone. A messy one !!! Well not too bad actually, took me a day to do both sides. That was strip, clean, examine everything, rebuild, set preload, etc. Could be done quicker but i'm a perfectionist so I check everything about...
