    Front wipers - relaxed attitude

Many thanks - I will take the switch apart and clean up the contacts to see if that sorts things out

    M and S lights

Will do so tonight - would you expect it to read more than 12.5v or so after a decent charge? Also, what reading would worry you when starting? Many thanks!

    Front wipers - relaxed attitude

The front windscreen wipers on my TD5 sometimes take a few seconds to come on, either in intermittent, slow or fast mode. Once going, the motor is fine and park is fine too. Wash/wipe works fine. Would you suggest this is most likely a switch issue and I should replace that first?

    M and S lights

Not overly convinced i would do a decent job of that, plus as I've only had the car a week so despite the cost would prefer to start with a new switch that I know will not give me a problem for a while! Plan to extend the air con drains when fitting the new switch to help the news witch survive...

    M and S lights

Many thanks for the suggestions but having sprayed it liberally with wd40, poor thing seems to be even more confused and now pretty much every time I use the car we have an issue with the warning lights. Seems not able to cope with moving the gear lever from R past N and to D! So new xyz is...

    M and S lights

Do you remember where you got it from for that price? Best deal i can find is £260 plus vat from Island. Assume this is not a genuine LR part for that price - has anyone else bought one from Island and got any views?

    M and S lights

Sorry to ask an old question, but.. have had a 2003 Disco 2 TD5 for a week. M and S lights started flashing tonight after I selected reverse, moved backwards a bit, then selected D and car was in limp home mode (red light flashing next to D etc). Turned car off, and back on, and all was...

Mature Dating ad on LZ homepage?!!

The more I look at her, the more I think that she could, as the ad says, be The One. Or perhaps the one for an hour at a time. But she is a little shiny. Nerves or an oil leak like my Defender...?

Mature Dating ad on LZ homepage?!!

Love the stereotype being suggested by this about typical Land Rover owners - sad, middle age blokes who are desperately looking for love - with a real person. Mind you, that is one fine looking lady - or at least she was in 1975 when that picture would appear to have been taken - and if she...

New door seal - bit drafty..

Have just fitted a new (genuine) door seal on the driver's door of my 1996 110. Pretty straightforward to fit, and seems to be a snug as.. However the door no longer sits nice and flush in its frame - now about half an inch out at the top corner, and there is a nice breeze coming in from the...

    Difflock switch staying on..?

have tried backing it off a little but no joy - it just goes off completely. I have not screwed it in all the way - I put the lock nut from the old switch on the new switch - assume that is correct. There seemed to be only two wires to use - both feed back to a bundle of other wires, two of...

    Difflock switch staying on..?

All I did was screw the new switch in and attach the two wires to the terminals at the top - didn't think even I could mess that up! Assume there is only one type of switch...

    Difflock switch staying on..?

Have just changed my difflock switch as it was not working - found a wire not connected to the old one but as I had bought a new one, I changed it anyway. Weird thing is that the light works when not in difflock, but goes out when put into difflock... Any bright ideas?
