    Intermittent ticking/brushing noise!!

I am told the problem is with the cambelt tensioner - which is pretty irritating as the cambelt and tensioner were only changed 3 months ago by mechanic chap. Have been advised not to drive it until fixed in case cambelt goes...?

    Intermittent ticking/brushing noise!!

An update. Sat in the car this morning after short journey and let engine tick over for five minutes - no noise. Then after a little revving it started, so it seems to only happen when engine is warm. Could this be a problem with the viscous fan?

    Intermittent ticking/brushing noise!!

Wonder if anyone can help. My engine has just started making a weird noise - happens on tickover and increases with revs, but is intermittent. Definitely sounds like it is coming from somewhere around the fan.. Here is a link to a Youtube clip with the noise clearly there...

Salisbury axle - pinion diff seal

I recently replaced the pinion diff seal on my 110 (Salisbury rear axle) - the seal was genuine with leather inside. After two months it is already dripping oil again. Can anyone tell me the correct part number for a seal with rubber inside that would fit - chassis is TAxxxxxx Many thanks!

    Brake light fuse blowing...300tdi

I had this problem - you might want to try replacing the reversing light switch that is screwed into the top of the gearbox. Mine was dodgy and kept blowing the reversing lights and the brake lights. New switch only cost about £12 and was an absolute doddle to fit.

    Noisy rear axle

HI - I get a lot of road noise from my rear axle (Salisbury) on my 1996 110 Defender. Even if freewheeling, there is a lot of low grumbling - any ideas? Have recently changed the axle oil. Many thanks

High pitched squeak when turning left

Wonder if anyone can advise - when I turn the steering wheel left on my Defender 110 (1996), I get a high pitched squeak - disappears as soon as I straighten up and doesn't happen when turning wheel to the right. Planning to check/replace swivel grease (with genuine LR stuff) but is this likely...
