How easy is it to convert a RHD to LHD?

Modifiying a RHD bulkhead to LHD is a lot quicker & easier than swapping one.

How easy is it to convert a RHD to LHD?

Actually, it is not as hard as many people think. It depends on how old the Defender is. On most of the early ones, the RHD and LHD bulkheads are identical. There is a small amount of cutting to be done, but all of the mounting points for the pedal box, steering assembly and brake servo are...

Another customer ripped off by AF

How is that fair? This is making getting a fair renewal almost impossible, as I now have an at fault claim on my file, even though liability has not yet been settled by insurer. This claim could take up to 6 months to settle, and in the meantime I will have to pay almost twice the monthly...

    Middle Seat Legality

Child seats are not designed to be used in side facing seats, so you cannot use them. The law states that children over 3 must use a child seat unless it is not suitable to fit one, as is the case with side facing seats. They can also sit in the rear of a vehicle without wearing a seatbelt if no...

Another customer ripped off by AF

Just had my renewal from Flux today, and found that the robbing B******s have added a fault claim to my policy and taken 2 years NCD off. The thing that p****s me off is that the accident was on the 2nd of this month, when some moron changed lanes without looking and drove into me. I spoke to...

Runs on gas tucks over rough on petrol when switch to no fuel it runs really well

I have this with mine. I start it on petrol when cold, and then move the switch to the off position, this turns the fuel pump off. After a few seconds, the carbs run dry and I can then move the switch to the gas position and the engine runs fine. If I try to switch to gas before the carbs are...

    absolutly fuming

To be fair, I had this problem recently after having a tyre fitted at a well known national chain. My problem was down to some #### over tightening the nuts with an air wrench and stripping the threads from the nuts.

In fact, if you had used the SEARCH button, you would have got the answer to your question in less time than it took you to actually post it. In...

    Low emission zone

Not a chance of getting it reclassified. If the VIN says it's a commercial, then I'm afraid it will always be a commercial.

What sort of landy do you have? All the landies on your profile look like station wagons.

    Series 3 stage 1 300tdi conversion?

They were the first Land Rover factory fitted with a V8 engine, it was restricted to 95 BHP though. It was the first Land Rover since the very first few series I's to be fitted with permanent 4 wheel drive. It had the Range Rover gearbox, transfer box and front axle. It had longer diff ratio's...

    Series 3 stage 1 300tdi conversion?

Yes you would thoroughly deserve any punishment you get for ruining a Stage 1 :( The Stage 1 station wagons are getting to be like hens teeth now, and there never were that many of them to start with. There are plenty of 4 cylinder 109's around you can drop a tractor engine in, and a Stage 1 in...

    Low emission zone

Genuine station wagons are not subject to the LEZ. Yes it does go by what is on the V5. What it is registered as on the V5 depends on the VIN. As you cannot change the VIN, you cannot change whether your vehicle is classed as a utility (commercial) or estate (non commercial)

    Low emission zone

It does affect the VIN, but not in a helpful way. military VIN's will be either *SALxxAAxxxxnnnnnn* (90" 12 volt) *SALxxASxxxxnnnnnn* (90" 24 volt) *SALxxBAxxxxnnnnnn* (110 " 12 volt) or *SALxxBRxxxxnnnnnn* (110" 24 volt) All of which are still classed as commercial.

    Low emission zone

It doesn't matter how many seats you put in it. Unless the VIN identifies it as a station wagon then it is subject to the LEZ. The 110 station wagons all had 5 doors, putting seats and windows in the back of a hardtop does not make it into a station wagon unfortunately.:( The rules are a bit...
