Mine is attached to the same bracket as the Airflow Meter, its to the right of the windscreen washer bottle in the photo. Taking these photos has reminded how badly my engine bay needs cleaning.

Out of interest, how does the aerial lead attach to the heated screen element?

It certainly seems as if I am not going to be able to find a replacement cover. 2 of the lugs have broken off so I have sealed it on using black silicone.

It originally had the Land Rover factory fit Clarion radio/cassette player which I replaced with an Alpine unit when the Clarion gave up the ghost. Not sure if it makes any difference but the RR was originally produced for the Australian market.

Understood to have been fitted from new, I have owned it since 1991 and previous to that it was registered to Land Rover.

Thanks for the information and advice on closing. I could do with a new glass as well so will opt for the Famous Four one with the Pilkington glass (apparently it is thicker that the other glass which is produced in China).

Hi I have a 1988 Classic RR and need to replace the upper tailgate. I have looked at several online including Famous Fours with and without Pilkington glass (which is OEM) and BRITPARTS but have no idea which is the best. I would appreciate any advice and recommendations. Thanks

Locket, thanks for the detailed information. If I lower the glass fully and tape it to the door, is it likely to stay in place when I slide the frame out?

Thanks for the response. I only need to remove the frame to replace it and am hoping that I can do so without having to remove the glass or anything else.

Hi I would be grateful for some advice. I have an 88 3.5 EFI and have a leak from the top plate (its a recondition Adwest 4 bolt which was fitted 4 years and 16,000 miles ago). Before having looked at I was wondering how it easy it is to replace the top plate seal/ O ring? Thanks Doug
