How much is LPG in your area?

Hmmm, that's dear for a multi-point system, let alone a mixer (which is the only option on a carb-fed motor). Yes, minimum bodgery of course.. but the only electricery on open loop systems is the switch, level of liquid in the tank and the two-wire solenoids that stop the petrol being pumped...

How much is LPG in your area?

That's too dear Fett.. IMO of course! You need the most basic of kits... all simple, proven stuff.. £100 off ebay if you don't mind 2nd hand. You won't need two vapourisers, just get something with two gas outlets. Then pick up a service kit for it (£30 for the OMVL R90e on mine)...

How much is LPG in your area?

If you already have the stuff, and are willing to do the conversion without pro help then I'd still go for it. If not, then for 4000k pa, I wouldn't bother.. On your '72 you'd also have to run an open-loop system.. the most basic system, kind of tweak and hope as far as tuning it goes lol. You...

How much is LPG in your area?

Sadly I believe the reason the truckers don't do the rolling road blocks/ barricades like before is due to new police powers... stopping big groups, I believe justified under the anti-terrorism laws?

How much is LPG in your area?

Mad isn't it- BP in Tonbridge, 82.9  The stupid thing is, 99% of people who use LPG don't NEED to use it- ie they can just run on petrol instead.. which is what I've been doing. As a result sales of LPG will go through the floor, demand drops due to people not bothering with it.. and a...

    CD changer skips..

Fixed! :D I took the unit out to clean it and noticed that only one side was bolted into the cage.. Anyway, I removed the front of the multichanger, hoovered out all the dust/ dog hairs etc and bolted the thing back in, this time secured at both sides. Now it works perfectly, no skipping...

Range rover classic - scout project

I was a member of the local Scout group when I were a nipper!! We never had anything this much fun to do, just 'badge work' indoors and the odd Church parade lol. I say roll up your sleeves and get working on it  Good luck!

Transferring an LPG kit from a Disco to a Rangie?

I've fitted four complete LPG systems now, three were 2nd hand from either eBay or a breakers yard, the other a new multi-point Bigas kit. As long as you're pretty competant, it's simple DIY stuff. The most time consuming tasks are fitting the tank(s) and running the piping from front to...

    CD changer skips..

Yup I realised you meant to use the airline carefully, I've not checked the unit properly yet- think I will this weekend if I get a chance :) I do have an air gun attachment so this should be ideal really, with the compressor turned right down. Does the multichanger come apart.. or would I...

    CD changer skips..

Ran the cd cleaning disc through it and it's definately improved things but still jumping! I've done some experimenting with it today, I've noticed it doesn't really jump due to road surface.. it's when it's turned up loudly! So.. only thing I can think of is the sub (above the changer) is...

    servicing

Well I wouldn't go quite that far lol, just don't pour anything nasty places where it shouldn't be! Semi-synthetic 10w 40 is absolutely fine, I have fully-synth in mine but only because I can get hold of it cheaply.

    servicing

Yes that should be sufficient. Obviously a hose would be better but if it's not possible then I'd just fill and drain it out as you suggest. Don't let anything near the drain in the road though (if thats what you meant), the merest trace of antifreeze is lethal stuff and we don't want it in...

    servicing

Yup, thankfully service parts are quite reasonable for our cars :) Re the GM antifreeze, the red/ pink stuff is OAT antifreeze I believe, this is fine but it's not overly happy mixing with old-style (usually blue) ethelyne glycol stuff. You probably have the older type of coolant in at...

    CD changer skips..

Thanks v8, I'm yet to even run a disc through it, (busy at work) but will definately do that first. Would love an easy fix :D

    Running a bit Rich!

Lovely, sounds like you're on the right track now. If you're feeling flush, replace both Lambda sensors. Believe it or not, they are actually consumable items- Bosch recommend they should be changed every 100k. Although they would say that, I'm inclined to agree. The switch slower when...

What engine oil do you rec

Semi synthetic 10w40, from Vauxhall's Trade Club scheme is ideal and nice 'n cheap :) However, I use fully synthetic, but only because I get it 'very (very) cheaply' from a friend! ;)

    CD changer skips..

Thanks for the suggestions all! It had dawned on me that it may just be a build-up of dust etc in the unit. The bootspace is such a great place for it!!! The car is not damp inside, but I'd imagine theres a hell of a lot of condensation at this time of year. Will clean it the best I can and...

    Rough idle after MAF clean

Yeah Wammers is correct in that it may be best not to reveal anything that could mean they can wriggle out of any warranty... It's annoying really because resetting the fuel trims is literally a two-minute job. Mind you, a reset of the codes and a quick check of the live readings would be...

    Advice,Which Range Rover ?

As the others have said.. I would spend some of the money on a really nice P38, last of the line, low mileage jobbie. I don't think you'll be disappointed, bad ones are just that.. bad, but decent ones are a joy. Like all 'top-end' (?!) cars, you'll need a cushion in your bank balance.. but...
