M-Sport Freelander and Lotus Tuned 1.8

I wonder if that's the one that one of my colleagues in Swindon used to own for years and rally? He sold it recently and got a proper Rally Scooby from NZ.

    Td4 chip -worth doing?

Tbh, there's plenty of small petrol cars now that give fantastic mpg- better than the sort of thing we get from the Prius things at work. If it's just economy you're after, get a small, cheap VW diesel Golf or Polo or a small petrol car. If you want to save the planet, then don't get a...

    Td4 chip -worth doing?

I've sorted all my fuelling system and fitted the Ronbox and it now actually does something when I press the pedal down. I can even overtake things.... Oh, and currently on 42mpg but only because it's winter- in summer I'm getting 45+ without probs.

    Prop Shaft Balancing

Changed two and never had a balance problem despite not caring about the marks. Someone did buy the UJs separately- I read it recently..

    Seized Caliper, Don't shout!

Just remember to use the correct RUBBER grease (or silicone grease) for the slider pins as normal grease or copper grease will swell and damage the rubbers allowing water to enter and more rust to come...

    smoking is back

Mine was like that, and worse, until I had my injectors reconned. ALL problems solved then. I'm beginning to think most of the running and smoking issues can be related to them. Now I know most injector/diesel specialists have a vested interest, but their advice of recon/replace every 100k miles...

What have you done to your Freelander today

I swear by them for Germanic cars as they are the original manufacturer, and for some Volvos too. Never had a problem with them.

    Winter tyres

That's the truth. My Golf on Conti TS850 winters was amazing- I could still drive like driving in the rain in summer. The weird thing was, when I went into idiot mode (handbrake turns, ahem) it gripped instantly when I wanted it to. In other words, I felt in total control and it only slid when I...

    next Freelander / baby Disco

My thoughts exactly... Why not make an Evoque for grown-ups with a normal roof line and call it, I dunno, maybe a Freelander...?

Cool... Seems I can get a better deal on 235/70/16s and they're slightly shorter too so I'll prob go for those.

    Tyre Slashing B*****ds

Dogs going mental like that make a hell of a mess of the car though. Mine's deaf and almost blind so not much use really....
