    ronbox vs other's

I'm on 121k now- so that's 10k miles on the Ronbox since I bought the car 4 months back. Yesterday I played with the Ronbox settings, but I still think the 10 setting is best for me as I pootle around normally, but like to have power when I overtake or climb hills so up the rev range is ideal...

    Td4 Belt slipping after water

What you don't want is water getting in the alternator, but it should be ok in puddles. What you also don't want is water getting in the drivebelt tensioner and idler bearings. They are a real ****e to change....

    how do i ???

Yes they are ok. I used Mr Muscle foaming oven cleaner and it didn't work. I used dishwasher powder and it didn't work. I used petrol... and finally it worked very well! Use a bottle brush but expect LOTS of high staining black spray everywhere. Just don;t lose the little rubber spacers where...

How to secure chequer-plate to doors

Spoilers and that kind of stuff are regularly glued on with it and they don't come off. It's bloody strong...

    Heated front screen switch

Believe me- you DON'T want to come back to see Boscombe! 10 years ago it was the heroin capital of the south coast and I don't think it has got any better. :(

    Miles to rank of Diesel

Crikey... I've just recorded 39.6mpg and I thought that was shocking! My worst yet!! But it did involve cruising around looking at houses in Newport, and being parked up at the Baneswell Express while I bought some booze, so someone probably stole some. Normally I get 42mpg at this time of year...

    Heated front screen switch

I'm planning on moving to ****-cheap-Wales from this ****hole called Bournemouth. I was born here (Christchurch) but been away for years and the hometown I knew and loved has long gone. Wish I'd never come back :( Anyway, I'd fit the switch and fuses etc first, then when the windscreen...

How to secure chequer-plate to doors

Ok, I'm just thinking aloud, but why not just glue them on with Tiger Bond, Silkaflex or whatever it's called...?

    Tapping noise

I used that stuff on my old MX5 at about 240k miles and it certainly worked. But occasionally it would tap again for a while. Didn't do any harm as it's still being ragged years later.

    are 5mm spacers enough

I would have thought that paying to swap the tyres over would be cheaper than buying spacers, and it keeps the right wheels on the right car. Spacers are a mod as well...

    Dan's Freelander

Not bad result considering the crappy paintjob they have! I used to get a mirror finish on my 98BMW cab with really sharp reflected edges due to the good flat paint.

Who removes their prop 8 months of the year?

Would also help if the bigger picture was addressed such as stopping the obsession by local councils in CREATING congestion points to 'slow us down'. Then charging us for the congestion....

What have you done to your Freelander today

Wow, that's a rather extreme suppository....

Life with my Landy (Platty's Project Thread)

Looks like a good 'un. As far as the lights are concerned, I have Phillips +100% Extreme Visons in the dipped and Osram Rallye 65w in the main beam and it's MUCH better- very good on dark country roads. I also have good LED sidelights which are normally sufficient for daytime use. Have you...

TD4 - MIL lamp on overrun

I would normally recommend an injector cleaner that would be added neat to the fuel filter, but that's a bit hard to do on the TD4 I gather.

    Tapping noise

Mmm.. so would I to be honest. I can't see the belt flapping about either.

Who removes their prop 8 months of the year?

Agreed. I believe a 2wd version of the FL2 was being flogged for those who like the look but don't need the 4x4.
