Could also be those terrible rubber connectors on the back of the bulb. They tend to wobble off, if you're vehicle has them. Always plugging one of mine back in, it's a right PITA.

My scruffy but cherished 110 now secure

Simple. You'll find the scallywags will either saw the pedal arms to get the lock off, and drive it on the stubs. Or they'll drive it away with the lock in place, usually on idle or by connecting a hand-pull wire to the throttle under the bonnet.. Changing gear without the clutch is simple, and...

Sadly you can still drive it, even with a pedal lock on.. Towing is even easier. Pedal, steering and gear stick is the full Monty of cover. Each on their own are pretty much useless..

Plucking up the courage... Head gasket and cambelt

Ta muchly all. Got a decent set of tools, although none of the locking tools. I'm hoping everything will line up with the timing marks. Got Haynes book of lies to swot up on, and the workshop manual too. Will check the fuel lines too, I have noticed a drip from the bottom of the fuel pump...

Plucking up the courage... Head gasket and cambelt

... found a couple of good photo walk through's on another forum, so now I'm just trying to get the courage together to give the Head Gasket and cambelt change a go on my 87, 2.5NA. Cambelt looks ok, through the little hatch underneath, but I don't know when it was last changed, so think it's...

Help Tuning a 2.5na - I dont mean power tuning!!!

Hi all. Couple of question on this. Do you move the pump with the engine running? Would this allow you to listen to how it runs. Or is it a case of loosen pump, move pump, tighten pump, run engine, adjust, repeat? I'm curious to know how one identifies "spot on tuning" - is it a bit like...

    Doors stolen

Oh dear! He's never going to win that battle. To be honest, the problem is not that the 'wire' is accessible from underneath a defender, it's that getting under a defender is so easy. 99% of cars and vans are easily to disable from the outside if you know how and can get far enough under the...

Probably not. I just popped mine back on, empty, and started the engine. All worked fine. Be careful you don't snap the drain plug off though, they're usually stuck tight.

    power loss ?

Pretty much yes, given the quality of today's diesel. Although the tank might be full of crud too.. worth draining and cleaning that if you're taking the sedimenter off. Water is the other problem though, the sedimenter lets you collect and drain water out the fuel.
