    Evoque Convertible Pics

Er, I think this year summer falls on a Thursday if I remember rightly but as these droptops are eyewateringly expensive they should come with their own private solar heat/light source.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Well, I have checked the pads for that very same reason and of course checked the level with it running as you kindly said. I will however get the garage to confirm that the pads are OK - certainly the fronts are and I thought the rears only looked part worn say by a third but thanks for the...

P38 2.5 DSE trying to fool the bonnet switch

It was definitely my drivers door lock actuator that flattened my batteries and I found that out purely by chance because it failed mechanically and when I replaced it - no more power problems, in fact I'm even thinking of reconnecting my RF aerial! I'm guessing it was those pesky microswitches.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Got a phone call from the indies who are bleeding my brakes, doing some diagnostics work and MOTing it. Turns out the old crate now has excellent brakes and more importantly passed it's MOT with flying colours except for one thing....... The old low brake fluid warning light - so they are...

In my home town.......does seem silly cheap. Anybody here want me to give the "seller" a bell?

2.5 M51 poor starting hot or cold

Black smoke is a no-no. NOT a good sign that the pump is working OK! Tired injectors, poor timing or injection pump way out of calibration. When you finally manage to start it do you have clouds of crap from the exhaust?

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Not today but last w/end.....removed scuttle trim and then the nearside scuttle grille. Removed plate cover held with the 10mm bolts and got access to the intake for the nearside heating and fan - took retaining plate off and cleaned up all the silicone a previous owner had placed there. Made...

P38A How are the tails lights powered by the BECM?

Well, that would explain why people A frame them then. But what does the A frame attach to - must be to the rear chassis members just like the towbar (hitch). Without the downward force (pin weight), I guess. Whatever happens, you're going to append a Range Rover to the back of the RV - the pull...

P38A How are the tails lights powered by the BECM?

Er, no, Grrrrr not true. Well possibly but I thought it was a bit like Gumtree and indeed if you Google it, it is. But...... there is a Personal Services section so you're right.....ish.:)

P38A How are the tails lights powered by the BECM?

I've done three road trips in the US and they were all a fabulous experience. I'm sure you will enjoy yourself immensely. Silly question I know but have you thought about buying a suitable trailer and then selling it afterwards when you've finished with it, Craigs List and all that?

P38A How are the tails lights powered by the BECM?

Ok, now we get to the crux of the whole thing. This rig your aiming to put together is going to be used overseas as you say the US. As far as I'm aware rules and regs for this stuff can vary from state to state - I take it that you have thoroughly checked out the American statutes? On road trips...

P38A How are the tails lights powered by the BECM?

I'm with Doo on this. Rig up a trailer board and go for it. DVSA won't know the car hasn't failed. Wammers certainly has a point, if your cars an auto unless of course you put the transfer box into neutral each time. Come to think of it, you don't see 4x4's dragged around usually they are clear...

P38A How are the tails lights powered by the BECM?

Much easier to just get a lighting board on a curly lead and fasten it on the back of the P38 when your towing it. It'll have the number plate from the tow vehicle on it also. Recovery guys use them all the time. Hope your towing vehicle is suitably robust, Range Rovers are heavy.

Without Change, There Is No Adventure....

In the mid-seventies I used to PDI and carry out warranty work on the original Classics - 3 door, hose out interiors and no frills. Have to say I loved them - they were to me fabulous machines and we have to remember there was NOTHING like them around. Ground breaking (literally!), they ushered...

Without Change, There Is No Adventure....

I'd look at a fully loaded Freelander, leather etc with V6 power, cheap as chips now.

Without Change, There Is No Adventure....

In my work I occasionally have to drive late model Defenders, most often towing 2t generators around etc. Sometimes up to 3-400 miles a day. I'm 5 foot 9. My knees are 1 inch from the dash so how bigger fellas get on is a mystery - there is NO room!

    New Old Range Rover

The Evoque ha provided many folks with jobs which is a good thing. I just look at them as an alternative product not really part of the Landrover evolution just a sidebar. The biggest problem Evoque owners have is not the bigotry that they possibly encounter but where to get hold of "No...

    no drive

Cavaliers you could back in the eighties - neat arrangement whereby you pulled the first motion shaft back through the 'box and removed an access panel in the bell housing. Have to confess to being completely baffled by the description of the clutch failure in this instance.

    p38 4.6 lpg nightmare

On mine you can get the engine just to run on petrol if required and leave the lpg on standby as it were. See if it changes anything if you have that option. Camshafts/valvetrain tend to be noisy if worn to the extent that it causes problems like this. Diagnostics is the way to go tbh. I used to...
