    Freelander 2 Roof lining

Oh dear, that looks pretty sad. The lining in my F1 hangs down probably as far as that would if the buttons were taken away. However, the sunroof holds it up in the front so there's no problem. If there are passengers in the back there's no problem either, cos their heads hold it up :D

New member New Zealand 2008 Freelander next to my 1982 G-Wagon LWB

Someone's gone and woke me up, what is it? Oh, nice Freelander, same colour as mine. If my gawjus leffer seats are ever nicked, I know who'll have done it. I see there are a couple of old SWB G-Wagons listed on TradeMe at the mo that look in good nick. Not bad price either considering what...

    VCU Torque test results

    Erm, No. A VCU never turns freely - unless its been frigged. Erm , No. Testing on a car with 5kg and 1.2m bar is not pointless - absolutely far from it. You, yourself, publish why... 3.0 kg . . . . . . . 80.0 seconds 4.1 kg . . . . . . . 49.5 seconds 5.0 kg . . . . . . . 35.5 seconds 6.2...

    Project value?

Would never happen in a civilised country Watty. You should try listing it south of the border. ;)

Why are the disc brake clips always wrong?

G'day @proto57 - nuther interesting story  You do have an innate ability to find Freelander parts suppliers knocking out product that is not in spec! I wonder if you've found another global phenonomen. (that last word is underlined, but the only spelling option is pheromone, which I...

    They have wipers to.

    Crows...bear with me

Have a trawl around local garage workshops asking for wipers they've replaced. Then set up some sacrificial wiper blade 'artwork' to draw then away from your car.

    Crows...bear with me

They're highly protected and there's a lot of work going on to build their numbers back up. Their numbers have been badly affected by rats (brought over by Maori & Europeans) and stoats (by Europeans). I'm sure it's illegal to keep them in captivity (outside of a santuary/zoo). San Diego Zoo...

    Crows...bear with me

They are me fave animal. They are cheeky, naughty, inquisitive and exceedingly clever. They are well known as destructive and thieves! At work I check campervans between hires and 1 of the checks is that the armour we put on the roof wiring (solar), specifically for Kea damage, is in tact. I...

    Crows...bear with me

Over here, its these that do all the damage... Kea, they are the most amazing animal. Not the most beautiful, but they are awesome and the world's only alpine Parrot.

Fookin clever crows if they can destroy your car while sitting on a neighbour's fence.

    Crows...bear with me

Where are they landing/standing to commit the crime? Can you make it so they can't stand there? Like the pokey up cable ties.

    Crows...bear with me

Stick a plastic Hawk on the roof. We had Herons nicking fish out of our pond, so stuck a plastic one next to it and they don't come down if there's competition. Crows might see Hawks as competition. Alternatively, do what Aussies do to stop crows from attacking them. They put a load of cable...

Freelander 2 (LR2) Diesel Leak when I fill the tank.

BTW, do you see any fuel around the filler? Some of the vehicles we have at work have a drain from around the filler area. When the AdBlue spills (its filler in under the same cover as the diesel), it drains out under the vehicle. Wondering if you have some kind of small blockage at the top...

Freelander 2 (LR2) Diesel Leak when I fill the tank.

From a safety and elf perspective, wear some cushioning protective layer on your forehead. Cos when the diesel drops down into your eyes, your head will flinch up and hit the underbody. Alternatively, wear eye protection as that will have the added benefit of protecting your eyesight. ;)

FL1 TD4 power loss and smoke

If your car is a manual, I'd say juddering when taking off is the clutch. My L Series has been doing it violently for a few years on and off (mainly on). I'm surprised my engine mounts haven't gone. Clutch still works, no slipping and will pull the old girl up hills no problem, but judders...
