What have you done to your Freelander today

+1 On the bright side, at least you won't have a hose pipe ban.

    Freelander 1 Auto 1.8

Apart from the starter issue, that you look to have covered having proved the voltage in the wire can control a relay, you look to be down to 'regular' mechanical issues. Pretty good position to have got yourself into

Freelander 2 (LR2) instrument cluster wiring fault

Do these lights come on on a self test. When I get in my F2, I put the key/fob in the reseptical, foot on brake, press the start button and it fires up. I'm not sure if it does a self test on the bulbs. I just did a test. I put the fob in and pressed the start button. This puts the car into...

    Clutch fliud leak.

Welcome to LZ. I can't help you on this, but good on you for jumping in and having a go. Hope someone can help and you get it sorted quickly.

Freelander 2 (LR2) instrument cluster wiring fault

Presumably you know the light doesn't come on because of the startup tests when all the lights are lit. Has someone butchered the LED to get it through a MOT? Will it fail a MOT if it does not illuminate on the self test? In doing that took out the oil LED, or butchered that to because it has...

What have you done to your Freelander today

After you have polished up the lenses, spray them with a UV protector or they'll cloud up again quickly. Either that or the car parts shops here sell snake oil.

    Upgrade 2008 FL2 3.2 i6 to 2014 FL2 SD4 2.2?

I'm sure there are ICEs that make the Freelander feel slow. And there will be ICEs and EVs that make the Freelander seem fast.

    Freelander 2 (LR2) Front Springs.

Is this a common thing on F2?

    Land Rover freelander imobilisor problem.

IIRC there are 2 parts to immobilisation 1 is cranking the other is fuel injection. The car's immobiliser (or IIRC the CCU dependent of age) handshakes with the engine ECU and they determine if immobilisation should occur. The immobiliser controls cranking by giving an earth to the starter...

    Freelander 1 Dash switch illumination

The heater control illumination is not just a case of replacing knobs I don't think. Hasn't been discussed for ages I don't think, but there are threads about it. I remember threads about it when I got the F1, but didn't fix it at the time. So start searching from about 2010

    Freelander 1 Rear Window Stuck

What ever you do - remove the inside cover on the door before closing it. If you manage to close it, but then can't open it again, you'll be cursing if you don't. I agree, you are almost certainly up for a new regulator (motor, wires and runners). Its a lot easier and more reliable fix than...

Freelander 2 (LR2) Manual mode isn't manual - gearbox remapping??

Quite coincidental this because I used the manual gear selection in my F2 for the first time this weekend. We went over a pass where plenty of vehicles burn their brakes out by the time they've got to the bottom. I was using it to brake rather than accelerate, but it worked a treat. When we...

Freelander 2 (LR2) Non starter, help please

If the timing was out, wouldn't it still fire the injectors?

    Backbox

I think the OP must have a particularly dodgy backbox. Cos when there's a major accident, the backboxes are always found intact and sent away to find out what went wrong.

    Were we unlucky?!

Everything is relative. I see pics of the underside of UK cars and cringe when compared to my NZ new 26 year old Freelander that looks in relatively pristine condition. Looking through the cars for sale here, occasionally they have the speedo in MPH. They would have been imported from the UK...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Well done for getting them apart. I think that must be the most linked to video by a long way in the Freelander section of LZ. Separating the props really is a case of absolute maximum aggression with a chisel and heavy hammer - and hope the chisel doesn't fly off and get you in the gonads!

    Freelander 1 Windscreen washer bottle/reservoir

IIRC once you have the bumper off it is accessible, mounted on the outside of the wing.

Freelander 2 (LR2) Stuck oil filter housing

Don't let it hit your confidence to do maintenance yourself. I have a friend who is an aircraft engineer. His job is literally to make sure planes don't fall out of the sky. He needed to service his car and came round to mine to do it and use the inspection pit in my garage. He could not get...

What have you done to your Freelander today

I don't know the answer to your question, but the net should hide that nicely. I'm sure it will be far far better than a saggy head lining. Which glue did you use? A spray on I take it?
