S3 = Proper Landrover. You kinda have to forget all about cars and wrestle them into submission like you would a vintage tractor, after a while it will start respecting you and behave itself. You will enjoy it one day and feel very bored in anything else. Don't forget to post some pics ;)

Series are much more capable than people think off road and stronger than defenders (made from tin foil) a Lightweight with mud tyres will go just about anywhere but fitting squashy seats would be ur only concession to comfort. Expensive these days however.

on a Hilux I once had I noticed the backplates were looking moth-eaten and made a mental note to take them off.. time I got around to it they'd gone!
