    101 camper conversion

Daf, if you have the space to keep it... My 101fc lives on the public highway. Some people don't like it but I recon I'd get more bother with a daf. Depends on what you want to do also. A 101fc is not that far off a tent on wheels, whilst people have washing machines and showers in larger...

    The value of parts

I have the same issue - loads of "stuff" that I don't want, but is worth "something" however selling it is, literally, more trouble than it's worth. Even giving it away for free on Facebook takes time, to photograph, list, communicate, wait in, etc etc. So it remains here. Cluttering up the...

    Value me this 110

No. You chop up the old one however you like to get it out, and then a take off the triangle by the c post. Replacement cross members have the brackets that bolt on, rather than are welded on, so you can then slide them in though the triangle bit, and bolt on the brackets when they're in place...

    Value me this 110

Maybe slightly less? eBay completed listings rather than wishful thinkers on the classifieds... It's a slightly tatty td5 csw with some mods that would not appeal to the "I've got some money and want to drive my kids around in a landrover" crowd. That also needs chassis work. So, yeah, I...

Loads of slack in power train - diffs?

Didn't quite get the first line? Uj? I guess I can drag out the half shaft and eyeball the diff end, but, unless it's proper stuffed, I probably won't be able to "see" the ware?

Loads of slack in power train - diffs?

I did the a frame ball for the mot last month, and I've not actually "tested" this area further. I've not driven it much since the mot, and have not noticed a difference in power trail slack on take up, but it's something I've largely adjusted my driving style to anyway, so I'd have to actually...

Loads of slack in power train - diffs?

There's a good amount of slack in my 300 110s transmission. Aside from all other components, if the hand brake is on (which locks the properly fine - ie it's not a hand brake issue) the vehicle can still roll more than id like to to before the slack is taken up. The handbrake isolates this to...

    Anyone encountered these LED headlights?

Do you mean sharp cut off on field of vision when driving on full beam? The bit thats actually of most interest to me is the pattern / cut off on dip beam. A lot of the reviews of various headlights seem to find problem in this area - that the dip beam strays up, out of where you want it to...

    Anyone encountered these LED headlights?

In truth, I really wanted you to prove me wrong when I said this - ...but, alas, you were not able to resist.

    Anyone encountered these LED headlights?

Not even slightly - Legality can be discussed, at length (as is so frequently proven on many many forums). I mean people make their whole lives income from debating the legality of certain issues. There is a whole trade around the area. Sometimes, however, you want to ask a technical...

    Anyone encountered these LED headlights?

Mostly im wanting to reduce the amps on the loom. I know about localized relays, but ive never found them to change things significantly, whilst LED run way cooler.

    Anyone encountered these LED headlights?

Disclaimer, I made the mistake of asking about these on another forum, and, despite my best efforts, it just turned into some dick waving contest concerning regulations. To be absolutely clear - my defender is only ever used on a private race track in a pressurized environment on the moon, so...

    Bolt removal - advice required

At this point, my confusion is - How have you managed to own a landrover for long enough to become a "well known member" without owning a welder?

    Diesel fuel pipes ?

My 101fc (which is now a diesel) is plumbed with clear nylon pipe. Like the 300tdi era builds, only clear, so you can see any air issues. It took a while as there's so many size variants etc but none of it is "push on" but all done with compression fittings and little brass inserts (so the...

    Bolt removal - advice required

Irwin things may work on that. Welding an oversized nut (so you can get plenty of metal / heat down the hole) certainly will. Its not so much the ability to give it extra grip, as the proper directed heat doing "somthing" to the bond. Mapp is one level - mig is entirely another.

    Conversion

The rooves are the same. The chap i bought my 88 sides off (for my 110csw) said he had bought them for his 90 by mistake, so i guess thats somthing to look out for.

    300TDI Disco1, temp sensor locations

Ive always been told that the issue with 300s is that the headder tank isnt that high, and it doesnt take much to airlock the water pump. Ive had 300s for 20 years or so, and not found this to be an issue, but im not saying some people dont. There are 3rd party alarm things for the headder...
