    P38 dse engine disabled

Ok I will go through this to the best of my knowledge. Right so we have good connections. You are not in lockout mode yet, your car is alarmed and thinks its getting nicked. Yep and it often doesnt make sense ;) fob? Yes I understand the EKA code required. that is still not the end of...

I would say again, but "quoting" myself is easier. If you send off the BECM (to the UK) and they say its fine, what do you do next? (apart from the cost and customs of sending it) Do you have your EKA code? Dont use it just asking do you have it? Have you tried syncing using the door key turn...

Brake fluid sensor connector wire snapped please help.

Take the plug off, depin the offending 1 and undo the pin with a couple of “watchmaker” screw drivers, then re crimp to the wire with a small set of pliers. Strip the insulation off the wire first of course ;). J

I had another look and it is really deceiving. As I can see the .5 mark and add the .47. But I can only just see the .5 mark which really should be more showing. So all I can really say is, your zero is out or I don’t know. J

I can only look at that and say the “test piece” is wonky. As I said earlier an accurate adjustable spanner is what I would use. I personally don’t understand the use of a micrometer on a round journal, it is so hard to get it straight. Did you use the little ratchet knob on the end to get the...

    Trailer socket/wiring harness

If it worked right before then just change like for like in the new socket. Or you could trace the wires back to the origin ( probably 1 of the back light areas) J

    Trailer socket/wiring harness

Welcome first :). What did you have, and did it work? What are you replacing it with? Follow a guide found freely on the internet as for the socket wiring. The car side could be anything as I don’t think it would have a dedicated wiring harness, so they would be connected “piggybacking “ off...

I am by no means a henginear. But they don’t look right. I suggested the”adjustable spanner” Vernier not the “c clamp” micrometer. For me the micrometer is for flat things, like shims. The vernier does round things better. Did you use the test piece to ensure it was zero?( I am assuming that...

P38 new problem with abs and traction fault

Look at his second pic and I think you can see a little bit of copper showing. It’s not easy to see if it has gone in far enough though. J
