Feck it. I int selling the Hippo.

No for the pittance these clowns have been offering me for it. Buggerit then, three Land Rovers still int enough for one man, the Hippo can be mothballed until february when my missus can be a named driver on it and she can have it. It's too nice to give to some muppet for 1500 quid. I may be a...

    Warning facelift owners!!!!

Designing and making something to sell is an expensive process, I do it every day ;). If someone wants to put the work in that would be great, but it'd be easier to pay the £450 quid at stratters.

    Warning facelift owners!!!!

Be cheaper to cough up for new lights from main dealer!! But nice idea :).

    Warning facelift owners!!!!

It would certainly slow them down. Yanking them out is less than a minutes job when there's nothing in the way. Best defence is to park it front up to a wall or another vehicle.

    Warning facelift owners!!!!

Right guys, I've just reported this to Durham Constabulary who were very grateful and took it seriously. They asked that we stay vigilant for other similar sellers and they said they're going to investigate this and will let me know if they turn anything up. We're only going to beat this if we...

    Warning facelift owners!!!!

Or, you know, procedure was followed and the suspicious listing was reported to the police who can very easily get his address from ebay and investigate.

    Warning facelift owners!!!!

Has anyone actually reported this obvious crook to the police? Handling stolen good was a crime last time I checked!!! Am I going to have to do it?

Engine mount polybushes, my initial findings

I used them in both upper and lower, the vibrated to begin with but have now settled in very nicely.

Anyone rebuilt their R380 gearbox? Too much for an amateur?

Haha might as well do it all then! DD probably has sone of the more specialised tools and perhaps I can borrow 'em! It doesn't seem to be outside my abilities - I'm damn good and precision jobs and following instructions so hopefully I can do it. What an achievement it would be :). Looks like...

Anyone rebuilt their R380 gearbox? Too much for an amateur?

Well that's encouraging. Ashcroft do full rebuild kits but that seems pretty in depth. As long as the pinions are of and the dog teeth aren't too knackered it shoudl be ok. It's the special tools I'm worried about :(.

Anyone rebuilt their R380 gearbox? Too much for an amateur?

Hi guys, My Disco crunches going from 1st to 2nd and then there's a small "catch" when going into 3rd. Methinks it's time to get inside it and have a look while I'd doing the DMF and clutch. Can someone with time and a decent set of tools do things like syncro's, dogs and sliders? Or would...

Who does a good price on OEM clutch kits?

Price for both Valeo kits from Euro's is £372 inc VAT with DD's trade discount. Probably the same as you'd get online when you factor in postage but I can get it todayand take it back easy, so I'm going to do that. yes mate all very similar prices. Yeh you won't get Valeo for less than...

Who does a good price on OEM clutch kits?

Well I can get both the clutch and DMF from Ashcroft for £365. Would I be correct in assuming that Ashcroft are well thought of and don't sell poor quality aftermarket parts?

Who does a good price on OEM clutch kits?

Youch sounds like it's going to set me back quite a lot :(!!

Who does a good price on OEM clutch kits?

My remap has exposed buggered clutch plate springs - the thing slips when I floor it. It's done 120k so it's not surprising. A quick look on Rimmer Bros shows OEM at around £250, anyone know where I might find a better price than that? I'm shopping around myself but thought I'd ask anyway :)...

Re Map ? Yes or No

Was a monster map installed by Springwater Cars in Calverton - really great service actually. It put it up by 20bhp ish above stock and about 23% more torque. A quick search revealed that extra power often reveals a clutch at the end of its life. The pedal is really heavy aswell so I knew it was...

Re Map ? Yes or No

Had mine mapped on saturday, goes like **** off a hot shovel now but has exposed a naff clutch. The plat springs are naffed and it slips a little when you give it the beans. Better sort that out then, but should be uttely brilliant when it's done.
