Why not just remove it and go to your friendly garage/motor factors and get a new O ring? Or measure it and get 1 online. A bit of sealant probably wouldnt hurt, but then you are just doing similar to what you have just accused/complained about a previous owner 🤔. J

The thing is the GEMs and diesel/Thor are different. They hold a code in the BECM that matches the 1 stored in the ECU, this doesnt change. The GEMs doesnt do it that way. Also mentioned in the other thread linked. 1 of them sends the signal continuosly until start, 1 doesnt if I remember. But...

Its not the remote code thats the issue its the next step that comes out of the BECM to the ECU to say its ok to start. I also belive that the ECU sends some sort of acceptance that it matches which then allows the BECM to allow cranking/fuel/spark. Done a lot of reading and I may have...

Try A Plan. Its gonna be expensive for any 17yr old but that sounds ridiculous. Have you treid you as main with named driver, there are restrictions but it could get him on the ladder. J

No its not the "FOUT". It needs learn and 1 start/imobilizer signal. Its long term and dont need it tomorrow :). J
