Defender 90 progress - First car!

I'm slightly older, but insured through Adrian Flux brokers, all my mods/accessories declared and still cheaper than all the mainstream insurers. Also in a club which adds a bit of a discount! Tbh under normal insurance its up to you whether you consider removing the EGR to be defined as a...

Meant to say as well that the condition is good but not immaculate, but your welcome to it.

    Cubby Box for Defender etc

I reinstated the middle seat in my Defender, so the cubby box I had is now surplus to my requirements. Anyone is welcome to it for £5 or a pack of beer ;) Collection from BA4.

    Gear box oil... Yuk!!

My local agri place sells Valtra tractor oils, so have used those for the last couple of years and I haven't had any issues at all - my last oil changes were the g/box and engine last summer. I think if your happy with the quality of the oil then the exact spec isn't too critical.

Ah thats good to know then :) Without it sounding like a cliche, you do feel safer with tougher bumper and something on the sides. Think it makes people more careful in car parks are well :D

    Defender safety

Best to avoid turning them over though, not much protection up top. *edit* Unless of course you have a roll cage as well ;)

Stolen Land Rover Defender 90 Pickup Somerset

No damage at all. Door locks fine, ignition/steering column fine. Will check the steering lock at some point as well. Stole the CD player (second hand one which I was quite fond of) and all my stuff. Don't know much about the site where it was located but it was alone.

Stolen Land Rover Defender 90 Pickup Somerset

Just to let you know the police found the vehicle today acting on local intelligence and it has been returned to me. They believe it was waiting to be broken up. No evidence left though to prosecute.

    Roof Condensation

There are four holes in the internal roof gutter, two on each side, above the doors. These are for the plastic trim clips. You simply push them through the lining, and then into these holes and bash them in. At the front, the lining is attached by putting the sun visor bolts through the visor...

    Roof Condensation

A while ago Homebase had a special deal on the fibre glass type loft insulation, £3 a roll - bought one of those and put a nice layer between my headlining and roof, the remainder going in the house. Seems to be working nicely so far :) The extra weight hasn't caused any problems with the roof...

    90/110/Defender Front seats

For Sale - complete drivers seat and the back and base parts of a front passenger seat. The drivers seat is complete, the lower frame is a bit rough but is in working order. One of the rails rattles, so might be broken somewhere in the middle. The vinyl seat covering and foam was replaced in...

    MPG with one prop.

One of my least favourite journeys home from work involved loosing power and the engine cutting out about every 200m, including going uphill through a town high street. I was getting a bit "upset" at the time. It turned out that the half tank of fuel showing on the gauge was by that point...
