thanks, didn't think the silicone pipes could become porous. The crankcase breather is definitely on my list of "to do" jobs. While i'm fitting the egr bypass I will give all the hoses a good check over and might even change the clips as per Teddywoods post.

i'll have to have another look what type they are. Is there that much difference between the 2 types? worth swapping them all for the t-bar clips? are they readily available, amazon, fleabay etc?

Had my 2.0 td4 auto for 2 weeks now and averaging 24, with a mix of town/A roads/Motorway.
I've got a suspect turbo pipe or possibly solenoid to sort out so that might improve things. Will also be doing the EGR bypass mod.
I'll let you know what happens.

Just bought a 2004 FL1 td4 2.0 and noticed that it has one odd tyre! 3 tyres the same and one different.
Nosing around on the forum I see that VCU/IRD/rear dif issues can be caused by mismatched tyres so my question is this....
how urgent is it that I get 4 new MATCHING...
Just to add, I bought my first ever Landy, a Freelander 1 td4 2.0 2 weeks ago on a bit of a whim, without doing any research.
Already coming across lots of niggles that are mentioned on here. Great information on here, unbelievable.
