    Van top fastenings

Did you lift the roof a tad or did you remove it completely? Was that bit easy? My tub cappings will need attention in the future, but I'm a bit overwhelmed about how much work is involved. :)

Finding an Ex Mod and getting it to Sweden!

With your budget you should be able to buy a "normal" Defender. However, I'm sensing you're specifically after an army vehicle. There's a few on eBay, like this one. 1997 LAND ROVER DEFENDER 110 300 Tdi, Ex MOD | eBay If you're up for a "normal" Defender, then you can get a pretty good one...

Finding an Ex Mod and getting it to Sweden!

Tjenare Emil, Normally when my friends come to the UK and buy cars I recommend them to come here and buy a running car (MOT, Taxed, etc) and get an import insurance from your own Swedish insurance company, then drive the car back to Sweden. I recommend them to come with a friend, and then hire...

    Heated windscreen fitting

OK, I'll come up with one! ;) If you wanted to do a "half-power" you could switch the same draw of power between the two sides. I.e switch between left and right, say every 0.5 seconds or so. To the car the load would seem the same (not the same as "full-power") instead of switching the heater...

    Heated windscreen fitting

Tim4x4, thanks for that. That's really useful information. My window seal is cracked and I'd like replace it (with OEM Land Rover seal), but I'd also like a heated windscreen, and sadly I cannot justify that cost at the moment. :) Anyway, thanks for the info!

    Indicator Stalk

I'm sure searching would have brought up a few threads, including the one I started. Yes, it's a common problem. A genuine Land Rover replacement indicator and light stalk assembly is under £50. You'll need to pop off the steering wheel and then the covers for the steering column. Then you need...

    In for respray

Just keep commenting and posting and you'll get enough posts to post a for sale ad. £80 isn't too bad (depending on model though). :)

    defender van/car

I think they accepted some (or all) of my car NCB, but they told me that I wouldn't be getting them back if I switched to a car. So the insurance isn't that bad, but it is a Van insurance. Worth noting is also that you cannot drive another car on your van insurance. So I have to be a named...

Nice job! £1500 isn't that bad at all. How much for the rock sliders btw?

    defender van/car

As far as I've understood this issue is that if it's a van it doesn't have tax (VAT?) applied to it. And therefore, if you want to change it from a van (PLG - Private / Light goods Vehicle) to a car, then you'll have to pay the tax. The interior and seating has got nothing to do with this. But...

Vinyl Wrapping a Defender in Matt Black

I might do. I'm very torn between wrap, dip and paint at the moment. I've done my motorbike (F800GS) in normal MacTac vinyl to a fair result. Dipping might be easier, but I don't have a garage to do it in, and the sprayer is quite expensive. I don't have a place to paint it in, and I don't have...
