    Mudflaps - 90 vs 110

Cheers That confirms it then... I had a quick look at the Paddocks website and they have a picture of the 90 rear type too. Sure enough, the fleabay lot is for a 90... Several fleabayers are selling similar items to the Paddocks product, for roughly similar price. Just for completeness, (I...

    Mudflaps - 90 vs 110

My 110's rear mudflaps have started to split near the top (looks like an obvious weak point) and I want to buy replacements before they fall off. A seller on fleabay is advertising a (used) set of four for "90 or 110". I thought that the 90 flaps fitted straight to the rear crossmember, and...

    Exhaust fitting tips?

Need to replace the exhaust on my 110 (standard 3-part for a 200tdi). I know it's a pretty straightforward job, but I've not done one before. There are several clamped joints. Do they need gaskets, or some kind of sealant, or what? Any other tips?

    Battery light

If it's a standard alternator, the brushes are part of the voltage regulator assembly which bolts on the back. It is possible to remove the regulator in-vehicle, but a lot easier to remove the alternator first! Having removed and replaced mine once (in-vehicle) I wasn't convinced that the...

Who's got it, and how much have you got!!!

Was out last night when 2-3" had fallen - most people had given up, and those that hadn't were slithering a bit. Haven't been out today yet (see below) - 11" measured -still falling (lightly). All schools in Surrey closed - kids annoyed because it's too deep for the sledge and 'the wrong...

    Alternator upgrade?

Somewhat delayed follow-up... In the end I bought this one (http://http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250247681906) from the Starter motor & Alternator Co It's a NEW 70A beast with the same plug-in connector (2 large spades, 1 small) as the 45A unit it replaced. Cost was...

    Alternator upgrade?

This (65 amp) beastie was mentioned earlier in the thread... (this listing has finished, but it's a stock item for the seller). I was just on the point of pressing 'Buy Now' when I noticed the mountings. The above example has the adjustment mounting at 180deg to the main mounting bolts, but...

    Alternator upgrade?

Not at all sure! The present alternator has some kind of connector on the back. There is a little wire spring clip that holds a plastic cover on, and the 3? wires disappear into this. I had no reason to remove the wires when attempting to replace the regulator (see separate thread!) and as the...

On line work shop manual wanted

These copies are for earlier models (ie petrol and non-turbo diesels) although much information will be of use regardless.

    Alternator upgrade?

I'd wondered about that one. 45A --> 65A would be more than adequate improvement (we want to connect a camping fridge (8A) for occasional use rather than a winch!) Also works out as cheap as the best price I've found so far. At the very least I'll need to re-terminate the wires, as the 65A...

    Alternator upgrade?

Surely if I upgrade from 45A to 100A I'll need to upgrade the wiring too? And will the Ford types use the same connections (three spade terminals in a connector, I think, rather than terminal studs)?

    Voltage regulator for 200Tdi alternator?

Best I've got so far is £42+VAT from Camberley Auto Factors (my 'local') for their own-brand exchange unit (although after the regulator debacle, I'll want to see one first, just to be certain). Still looking... :-)

    Alternator upgrade?

Got to replace my A127 alternator on my 110. Existing unit is 45A rating. Any problems about fitting a 65A unit instead? Same connectors used? Anything else need upgrading to suit? (I'm currently shopping around for a price - how can there be so many different part numbers for the...

    Voltage regulator for 200Tdi alternator?

Haynes suggests four different alternators: Three Lucas, but the 'Marelli' type is very different, and fitted to later (ie 300Tdi) models. It is definitely an A127 (but labelled Marelli), with a big silver-and-black regulator box on the back, held on with three bolts. After removing the...

    Voltage regulator for 200Tdi alternator?

OK, having picked up a replacement regulator/brush assembly i need to try and fit it this weekend, despite the rain...* In the absence of further responses, I went hunting elsewhere (sorry folks!) and eventually found a thread which answers both our questions... Battery light dimly lit all...

    Voltage regulator for 200Tdi alternator?

Hi GRUNT It IS an A127-45, made by Magnetti-Marelli, dated 11-1992 (hence right age, even if not original component). Got a compatible regulator/brush box (made by Bosch) from my local motor factor this morning, but now you's got me worried. AA bloke seemed to suggest it just slotted in...

    Voltage regulator for 200Tdi alternator?

I managed to flatten the battery on my 1996 110 by using the worklights for too long with the engine off (silly me!). One jump start and a 30min drive later and I thought all would be well. (Ignition light was going off, correctly.) Next day, it wouldn't start! As I was on holiday I had no...

    Where's it getting in ????!!!!!!!

Yes, please do! Fixed the first leak, which was caused by some silicone sealant applied to bulkhead by previous owner -- the water ran down the A-pillar, encountered the sealant, and then came round the rubber door seal and dripped on the passenger's feet: simply removing the sealant blob...
