    Heated seat probs

Did you test the seats by sitting on them for 5+ minutes? When i did mine I noticed that the seats themselves don't get warm, only when you are sitting on them do you notice.

    Damp in passengers footwell

Check the aircon drains first as it won't cost a penny if that is the problem.

    Heated seat resistance !

I had break in the same spot, any bit of wire will do, think I put some PVC tape over it after soldering it together. The hog rings are a pain, but when I think back the fabric which holds the wires in place was ripping too, basically the whole seat was coming apart, so it may not be as tight...

    Heated Front Screen not working

On my screen there are stripes where the element wires are broken, so I know the supply is ok and its just some broken elements which I reckon the only fix is a new windscreen (hope that crack grows!) If you have nothing working then possibly the relays/fuses, but the screens themselves are a...

    Heated seat resistance !

Sounds like you have identified a fault, so now there's nothing to do but roll your sleeves up and take the seats apart to fix it. The article on RR.net is the best, it works well. The break, usually in the seat base, is easy to spot and fix, the pain is getting the seat apart. I did mine in a...

Change Glow Plugs on 2.5 p38

Go easy removing the electrical connections on the glow plugs, if they haven't been removed removed for a while they could be siezed and if they are it makes the job harder. When I first did mine the ring connector snapped off the cable on No 1 and it was a bugger to get a new one on the short...

    p38 vibe

I have the same, changed the crank pulley, the one that came off was in a poor state, but it didn't make much difference. I've thought about the engine + gearbox mounts, they must harden over the years, they are cheap to buy but the right hand side looks a bugger to replace... I've read...

Petition to stop the split of Land Rover and Range Rover

Yeah, health and safety is rubbish, I think we should measure the cost of things by how many lives were lost during construction, just like the good old days!

    P38 Vibration. Help!!!!

I'd have thought running without the front prop would destroy the viscous coupling, as it will be constantly trying to stop the now-free front flange from spinning? When i mean destroy it will sieze up and never allow slip again.

    Fookin son of a biatch!!!

Do you have legal cover with your insurance? If so you can use this whether you are claiming on your insurance or not. They will chase up claim with MIB and handle 3rd party.

    LRO anti P38?

Yes, LRO is very anti-P38, for the Range Rover 40th anniversary feature they completely trashed it! Air suspension faults, blah blah blah, its the only tune they know.

    bio fuel in L322 td6

The same advice is given for the P38, and that runs fine on biodiesel, think its just LR covering their arses in the manual. If you produce less than 2500 litres a year then it is duty free too.

RR p38 2.5dse very thick black smoke

My DSE is a bit sluggish up hills, I've had trouble with the vacumm pipe from the manifold to the MAP sensor, but it looks ok at the minute, so I might test the MAP sensor or just buy a replacement for £40. A faulty map sensor limits fuel delivery by the ECU.

    radio change

You'll need the ISO connector, 10-pin iirc, try rangeroverheaven.net as he has plenty of wiring looms. You can then add any old connector to join your car's loom to the new connector. Do you mean you are looking for an original Clarion Diversity type head unit?

    2.5 dse water/coolant hose needed.

Whilst browsing eBay last night, I noticed a few hoses on there, with pictures too, so you might be able to match it up. You need to download the Electronic Parts Catalogue then you can find all the part numbers you'll ever need!

    1997 P38 Towing Relay

I don't know for sure, but I believe there are sockets behind the near side rear lights ready for the trailer wiring to be plugged in, requiring you to fit a genuine wiring loom to the towbar I suppose, costly? I would think the advice you were given to be near the truth as the BECM senses...

    Newbie needing help/advice p38 dse

Reading this thread I was thinking the same as Simon1975, blaming poor quality fuel on a 200k car struck me as re-arranging deck chairs on the Titanic. I'll have to remember in the future that criticising people's opinions is forbidden, but criticising people who criticise other people's...
