yep a diesel oil, 10w30 or 15w40, dont wanna go too thin as in lower then 30. i know some old detroit and cummins diesels would run say a sae 40 mono-grade oil and there be no probs, but i would probably go with a multi-grade if you have cold winters and warm summers. tony.

The webber should be a good carb as many car makers used them on their engines, id say the carb is dodgy id try to get a replacement, and as others say 1.5 turns out should be a good tuning start point and just adjust from there to get it running good.

your carby must have a blockage, and it wont idle, does it blow out a lot of black smoke when you have the throttle open a bit, if so id say your jets are clogged and it will need to be striped and cleaned up and she should be as good as new again. Tony.
