    clutch issues.

Hi guys, for the last week or so the clutch in my 2003 td5 Defender has been slipping, usually just in 5th gear as I put my foot down, so as a wild stab in the dark, I'm guessing I'll be replacing the clutch very soon? If this is the case is there anything else I should be looking out for, or...

RPM pick up and interior door pop up lock removal.

I had to remove my door cards recently (my wife had puked all over the door after a work xmas function) and the pop-up surrounds can stick, I've broken a couple in the past, I'd give them a light spray of WD-40 or something similar, give them a bit of a wiggle then pry them upwards, should come...

    Should I buy it???

Cheers for that guys, I was aware of the parts availability problems, already sourced a fair few parts for my defender from the UK. I work in an engineering workshop, so have machine shop, metal shop and fibreglass bay at my disposal, and have no qualms about fabricating parts, welding etc...

    Should I buy it???

Hey guys, I've had Landys for years, but only ever 110s and Defenders, so I was looking for a series to do a full restoration on as a project. What do you lot in the know think of this one? Any positives/negatives would be helpfull, they're only after approx 1250 pounds as a sarting bid...

    Fabricated dislocation cones

Cheers! It certainly helps working in building that contains a metal workshop, a machine shop and a wood shop!

    Fabricated dislocation cones

I prefer to work in metric, but I'm in the Airforce and all of our aircraft are ancient pieces of yank rubbish, so imperial parts are easy to "find"

    Fabricated dislocation cones

Here is the plans for them: I tack welded the bolts through the smaller discs, welded on the large cone followed by the half cone shapes, then ground it all smooth and painted them. To fit, jack up, remove wheel, pop springs out, carefull brakes don't hit the floor, put cone inside...

    Fabricated dislocation cones

Sure mate, welcome! When off roading, (especially with raised suspension) extreme axle travel means the top of the springs pop out of the spring seat but will not re-seat correctly, usually sitting a couple of inches off centre(to the left in the above pic), which means the tyres can rub on...

    Fabricated dislocation cones

As I live in NZ Landy parts aren't the cheapest, the terrafirma rear dislocation cones I was looking at were about $160 plus $100 postage from Australia (about 130GBP) So, I took some measurements and fabricated my own from 6mm sheet steel, results below! I can upload the plans I used if...

    Which extended wheel arches?

Hey guys, just to keep things legal I need extended wheel arches on my td5 defender, and like the look of terrafirma and flatdog ones. Does anyone have experience of these makes and can advise me of the quality, pros and cons, fitment etc? Thanks in advance!

Much to do! Advice on many things required!

With regards to the FPR, I just bought a rebuild kit as the alloy block is not going to break, it's usually just the rubber seal inside the actual regulator. I threw an old blanket on top of the engine, lay on it and reached down to do the work.

Slightly biased, but mine is perfect for me!

What's this bit, and why's it leaking diesel?

I ended up just buying a rebuild kit off flea bay in the UK, as it only cost about $60, as opposed to $600-$700 for a whole new unit in NZ. Done about 1000km so far, and no leaks! The job wasn't too difficult, I just put some foam sheet accross the top of the engine and lay on it!

Split charge system for my defender?

My intention is to use most of the kit when the engine is running, except the fridge, work light and possibly the inverter for short periods.
