    Towing

After market, chip add on to remap the fuelling to give more fuel at lower revs, hence better towing performance. For more bang for a lot more buck uprate the puny intercooler to as large as poss and remap fuel pump for miles better torque. Lots of garages sell psi power box, and is plug in so...

2000 (W) DHSE Rangey Cutting Out

Gearbox fault almost always comes out when electrical power drops out along with SRS, and other faults. I had problem with serpentine belt tensioner that cut electrics when driving along, could be problem with the belt, causing the engine electronics to shut down.

Sunroof not set - erm... I don't have a sunroof

Need a piece of software/hardware to reset this setting on the BeCM, one quick trick to reset the whole BeCM is to disconnect the battery, following official procedure, wait 30 minutes and reconnect. This allows the BeCM to lose all battery power and resets on startup. If this fault is new...

P38 Cutting out when Changing down

Right, I had exactly the same problem, engine would cut out below about 2,000 revs, took to indie 4x4 garage who diagnosed and fixed the fuel lift pump as pointed out previously by various posters. Have a look on rangerovers . net for short cut routes to replacing the lift pump. Full procedure...

Anyone running a 2.5 Diesel on veg oil ?

Tell them at various points you ran out of oil and had to use straight dino diesel but can't remember when that happened. Probably only used 2,440 litres or so......

    p38 2.5dse i hav inprove my mpg by 6.7mpg

No mods at all but runnning mix of SVO (straight vegetable oil) and tiny bit of dino diesel and get an improvement from 27.8 to 31.2, winner, perhaps with the power box, larger intercooler and straight through exhaust I could get it into the 50's mpg? Yeah and if wishes were horses.... it would...

    Alarm fault

My DSE develops RHD front open when not, indicators not clicking and headlights on dipped beam/full no matter what I did, occasionally. Following advice on here, disconnected battery *following procedure*, waited 30 mins and then reconnected, reset the windows etc. been good as new since...

Someone else who thinks they can save you 50% fuel

Many alleged water-fuelled cars obtain hydrogen or a mixture of hydrogen and oxygen (sometimes called "oxyhydrogen", "HHO", or "Brown's Gas") by the electrolysis of water, a process that must be powered with electricity. The hydrogen or oxyhydrogen is then burned, supposedly powering the car...

    Turning circle

OK, thanks wammers, exactly my thought coming to the end of that post. less revolutions same distance, exactly as you described and I nearly got round to, before beating myself about the head for being so stupid. :D I even did a physics degree back in the day!!!

I'm back for more punishment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What is it about these damn 4x4s????

Hi Some guys over at rangerovers. net have done a shortcut job on the LHD models I know this wouldn't work for RHD, but could something be adapted to make the process similar? Much in the way the blend motors can be replaced with a short-cut, the lift pump etc. Just by cutting/boring holes in...

    how much can i tow

A question if you will, I tow a laden trailer (horsebox) not over 3.5 tonnes on a pre'97 license with the P38 which according to the handbook is the permissible limit for the car without extra entitlement. Is this correct?

    Turning circle

OK, originally read this in one of the landy mags and thought it was b*ll*cks but thinking it through (I think) works out. outside of circle turns faster than inside, hence larger diameter wheels turn further for a given rotation, which is why if you fit bigger wheels, your speedo needs...

    L322 front wing side vents - 2 or 3?

Matt, guessing Mr Blonde means the AV module for the remote locking, but I could be WAY off beam with that one

    p38 range rover

Considered opinion on here is that vented and drilled discs don't make a difference, original pads are good enough too, loads of places online, just google P38 brake discs and P38 pads should do the job nicely

    Buying P38

Also If you can get it a post 1999 model is a better car, a range revamp from the earlier P38.

    biodiesel

True, but how long is a piece of string. I will be saving over 45p a litre at pump prices here and am getting improved torque and better mpg now I am using it as the engine has tightened up a bit! All good for now..............

    hiclone does it work

Hi, looked into this and for the RR we need two, one pre- and one post the intercooler. Supposed increase across torque is 5% BUT I have neither heard nor seen any independent proof of it so am holding off for now. They also do a air filter pad that is meant to help it but am even more dubious...

    2.5 dse oil change

I second Irish (not for the first time), if you have not had it landy garage serviced the last time or don't know who did it, then flush as a precaution. Worth it
