    Disco power steering

I'm hoping to get the pipes finished next week and try it out. Saying that even without the pump connected it's a lot lighter than the standard relay.

I have one in mine :) granted it wasn't me that done it. The front crossmember has been replaced with a bit of 40x40 5mm box. The battery tray removed and the PAS relay mounted where the tray would have been. I can take some pics tomorrow for you.

    PTO and generator.

Yeah those wee 1kvas are ok but I'm looking to have camper fully self contained. Basically park up and climb in the back motor home style

    PTO and generator.

Sam that's sorta the idea. The problem with an inverter is by the time I put in a second battery and inverter it will take up as much space as a small coil. What I was thinking was striping the coil from an old 5kva honda genset. Which would produce between 15-20 amps or 3300+ watts. An inverter...

Aidan and Rosedrops Series 2a Rebuild\resto

Ok so it's been quite a while. Been mentally busy in work over Christmas and it hasn't really calmed down. Had a good day on Monday with my dad and bro. Managed to get the last of the wiring pulled in. Have my underseat battery box finished minus some paint. Brother is working on that. Hoping to...

    PTO and generator.

Ok has anyone ever tried or seen a genset hooked up to the PTO? It's a crazy idea I'm having for my next project(a camper van). Is the PTO at engine speed or gearbox speed. I'm guessing engine but haven't looked at my gearbox yet.

    Lightweight elec probs

Temp and fuel gauge both dead? A common problem with these is the voltage stabiliser mounted on the back of the temp? Gauge. If both are dead I would put money on that.

Series 3 fuel and temp gauges stopped working. Can anyone help?

Do you have a multimeter and a test lamp? Test the voltage on the green side(input) and ground then test voltage on output. Then connect low wattage ie 10-15 watt lamp on output and other side to ground. Test voltage with lamp in place. I put money that it drops big time. The thing with using a...

    clutch cylinder adapter

The end of the pipe going into the cylinder needs to be flanged. The pipe goes directly in and the flange seals with the taper in the cylinder. Sounds like there might have been a mod done at some stage.

Series 3 fuel and temp gauges stopped working. Can anyone help?

What voltage regulator did you use? I have heard of a certain brand doing this. Dead from new. I would stick a fiver on it as that is the only thing both gauges have in common.

A/F and Imperial and spanners for ye olde Land Rovers

Well brakes you can't really change as wheel cylinders are tapped to imperial. It's more body panels and the like. Main reason is galv metric are easier the come by than imperial.
