Range Rover Vogue Stuck In Low Range

Hmm so @rebeccaSP91 nothing comes up on the dash when you try to select Lo/Hi with her in drive? They bong and tell you to select neutral if you do that, so in my mind it sounds like it could also be the actual selector switch? @backinblack any wisdom? @Bemble ?

Range Rover Vogue Stuck In Low Range

Ideally you need to get the old girl to a LR specialist or indy and get them to diagnose, they'll have the diagnostic equipment which makes life easier, You can check the potentiometer but it requires you to lay under her with a multimeter :)

Range Rover Vogue Stuck In Low Range

More than likely a fault with the potentiometer in the shift motor,.

Fuse 37. might be worth trying to calibrate the shift control motor. Also putting a fuse in position 37 renders the parking pawl useless so make sure you have the handbrake on when fiddling around, don't want the car fooking off on ya. :)

    P38A M51 to Rover V8 Swap?

What part of "top end overhaul" do you not understand? The RV8 is prone to several faults even when well maintained, such faults are easily rectified with the engine out of the car,

    P38A M51 to Rover V8 Swap?

Don't see your point. A top end overhaul would cost around £400 if you put a Torquemax cam in, no point going to town doing a diesel to V8 conversion and fitting a potentially flat and shagged engine, :) Rover V8's commonly suffer Slack chain - worn cam - headgasket failure, oil leaks etc if...

    P38A M51 to Rover V8 Swap?

You'd need to find a good engine, which is a gamble any 2nd hand RV8 while out should have atleast a top end overhaul, just so you don't end up dropping an old tired engine in place of your current one...... Or you could buy a recon unit from the likes of V8developments but that is big...

Early Discovery 2 TD5 made without EGR and catalyst

More than likely blanked off years ago, all TD5's came with EGRs. Cats are another story from what I recall the pre face lift motors didn't have them, my November 1999 TD5 doesn't :)

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Funny thing is the reputation most british car brands had in the 70s 80s etc seems Jags were not too bad, both my Dad and Grandfather had Jags and all say the same, they were the best cars they owned... :) I had an 3.6 AJ6 powered XJ40 2yrs ago, very good car it was too, only had it 6 months...
