wouldnt bother with zt seats. one of the family has one of these and other than being poor quality (alledged 1/2 leather is coming off at 50k miles) they look to have quite a tall base so you would end up sitting pretty high up even with custom rails (considered the same idea too at one point).

if you have the time its cheaper to replace the plastic fasteners from the likes of ebay but halfords do a reuseable panel clip if you are in a rush although they do cost more.

not sure about 300tdi but theres quite a few core plugs on the 200 block and not all can be seen easily. one at very back of block is quite prone iirc so worth a look there is also one behind the timing case but this is a lot harder to get to. If you're having to top up the water each time...

dont need a grinder, did mine with a hacksaw blade. the centre section will unbolt from the bumper if you can be bothered but after half a dozen bolts mine just came away with ease.

If the tyres are anything like the colway machos (same tread pattern) that I had on the 110 last year they will be fine. They were actually marked as an M&S tyre even though they were an MT tread. its a bit of a never ending argument with tyre size just get the size you already have. Steel...
