    Tyres

Really? I've never noticed that. The newer ATs are supposedly even quieter.

    Tyres

Well my General Grabber ATs are pretty quiet and the previous AT2s have lasted well. Very good off road too. Didn't realize they made 'road' tyres.

Owners of LPG models - Where's your ECU?

Think I'd better have another look at mine. As I recall, mine is to the left of the battery bolted to the wing in the battery compartment itself, compromising the size of the compartment.

Owners of LPG models - Where's your ECU?

Really? Is your ECU particularly small? I might have to take another look, but I was certain the standard battery won't fit in my bay now.

my newly fixed and uprated heated seats

I did get some stats a while ago and even found them last week whilst moving house. No idea where the bleeding things are now though! Am a bit closer now - Sandhurst.

To LEZ or not to LEZ...that is the question......

I had the same problem with my old Series III and the local tip. Because it was a truck cab it was classed as a commercial vehicle and therefore I was not allowed to use it to make tip runs. There was no possible negotiation. Rules is rules apparently unless you're mates with the people that...

my newly fixed and uprated heated seats

So you're offering to do them? Mine need doing, and I never seem to get around to it... (although to be honest, they're probably the least of my problems!!)

Owners of LPG models - Where's your ECU?

Hi All, Just got my P38 back on the road (wow, that was an expensive MOT!), and one particular niggle is confronting me again. When my lpg kit was installed, the installer put the LPG ECU in the battery bay, meaning he had to fit a smaller battery in order to accommodate it. This has the...

Where are those parts from just out of interest? All OEM, or just those where stated?

    Lpg tune up

I get 225 miles out of 75 litres of lpg on my 4.6. It doesn't seem to matter what kind of driving conditions - it's pretty consistent.

Now this is a curiouis one...Coolant over pressure and overheat....

My P38 behaves exactly the same as this and has done for the last couple of years... I was really hoping you were on to something with the vapouriser. Pretty sure it's a HG on mine.

    stereo and steering wheel controls

Just found my bit. It's by a company called PAC (Pacific Accessory Corporation) and it seems to be called SWI-JACK Universal Steering Wheel Control Interface. It apparently works with JVC, Alpine, Clarion and Kenwood and can be programmed to work with many different cars. I bought it on...

    stereo and steering wheel controls

40 quid!? Clarkie made mine for me for a few quid but he seemed to mysteriously disappear. The Clarion reconditioning route is quite a good way to go but I wanted hands free phone integration.

    stereo and steering wheel controls

I did buy something (from the US) that is supposed to allow me to use the steering wheel controls with the new Clarion I fitted. It's been SORNed for the past year though so there hasn't been much pressure to actually fit it. I'll try and remember to dig it out later and report back.

    A question for P38 off-roaders

I was offroading with someone in a coil converted P38 on Salisbury Plain and he got stuck in a bomb hole with a flooded engine. Exactly the same thing with the electrics happened after a minute or so - it's amazingly hard to concentrate with the horn and the alarm going off! Think his windows...

thinking of giving up on the damn thing

I'm tending more towards a complete engine replacement from Turner rather than farting about with my HGs as my engine has done 170k anyway. Still got that slight whisper in the back of my mind that I ought to go for an L322 though if I'm going to go that far...

    p38 deadlocks

Mine's never worked either and I've never worried about it, but as the OP mentions the alarm doesn't seem to activate in this situation either.
