    Freelander security

Had the spare wheel stolen off my S-Reg once. Turned out there are only ten different patterns of locking nut, and a set of keys can be bought for less than the cost of a new wheel. Don't keep a brand new tyre on the back door.

    MPG close shave

Maybe not relevant, but yesterday the light came on in my 07 Freely 2 with the computer saying I had 50 miles' worth left in the tank. Don't know whether the light's computer driven or independent though - light remained on even though the computer readout went back up to 56 miles left when the...

What does the 'C' in this tyre rating mean?

C = If a Euro-metric sized tire ends with a "C," it signifies the tire is a "Commercial" tire intended to be used on vans or delivery trucks that are capable of carrying heavy loads. In addition to being branded with the "C" in their size, these tires are also branded with their appropriate...

    150,000 miles too much??

I'd suggest the back axle Dave... Had to renew the oil a few times and it seemed to get dirty quite quickly. Love the Freely 2 btw. David :)

    SRS light

It's usually a dodgy connection that just needs wiggling about. Dealers will tell you it needs a new expensive module (of course). Big yellow connectors behind gluv box and under passenger seat. disconnect and wiggle WITH IGNITION OFF and it will probably be fine.

TD5 Power, Temp and hot air

Sounds like it's the gasket then, but best to be sure and run a test. Afraid I don't know how they do the pressure test, but any competent place should be able to do it.. Obviously, use metal dowels when putting it back.

    Paris Underground...

We didn't mean to break it. We were trying to nick it to flog on Y-Bay.

Nah - it was in Sheffield, so we didn't think anyone would notice.:)

    Paris Underground...

Did the opposite once with a Transit. Parked the back end over a kerb, loaded 16 kids in the back, drove off and took two kerbstones with me!

There's a multi-storey in Newcastle that claims to have enough headroom BUT you can hit the roof backing into some of the spaces! Watch out for sloping roof beams.

    Bio in a TD5?

I ran my TD5 happily on 50% bio with no problem. not even any muck in the fuel filter. Smoother run and better consumption.

TD5 Power, Temp and hot air

Worth having the head pressure tested. They crack, usually at an exhaust port.

SRS light on any ideas (freelander)

Moderator? Naughty language? (And pig-ignorance - the first part of the answer makes sense to most of us).

    Airbag SRS warning lamp

Usually a bad connection. Not sure where connectors are on your vehicle but on a Disco would be big yellow ones under seats and behind glove box. If you can find them give them a wiggle with IGNITION OFF.

2002 disco TD5 auto: auto problem? oil?

I found BP Ultimate made a big difference. You can probably get similar by adding 2-stroke oil or Miller's to the mix - key is to up the Cetane rating.
