Might be time to get serious. If your vehicle is registered as a commercial, is older than 2002 and is likely to travel virtually anywhere inside the M25 there's a massive fine if you don't comply. And you can't dodge as there are cameras on every road. Seems to affect pickups and commercials...

My 07 manual gives me around 30 in town and about 37 on a run (it's currently showing 33.8 on the screen). I can get it above 40 if I'm gentle. The new one should be better, but a lot depends on how you drive it.

Get the head pressure tested if you can afford it. Unfortunately the heads on these do crack, generally at an exhaust port. And as above, make sure you use steel dowels. The gaskets come in different thicknesses. You need to check the markings on the old one in order to get the correct new one.
