SRS light on any ideas (freelander)

The SRS activates the airbags which are meant to save your life if the seatbelt doesn't. (Also the seatbelt tensioner?) If the light is on, it isn't working. And will fail MoT (that's advice from Dealer, so may not be true). I'm not sure the diagnostics always work. On my Disco, the dealer's...

    SRS Light on

It often is the connection. Haven't checked the FR but on Disco2 there's one under passenger seat and one behind gluv compartment. Big yellow connectors. With ignition OFF, disconnect, wiggle about, reconnect. Will reset itself when you turn ignition on. If not that it will be something more...

    Why do Discos.........

It's so the moon can shine in and add a little romance to your incest/necrophilia. Allegedly it's so your passengers can get a good view of the mountains as you drive happily through the alps, but I'd go for the built-in rust theory.

    Freelander Club

 Who's second class? We are the owners of the REAL Land Rovers. I switched from a D2 to a FR2 and now the world is my mollusc. Freelanders are the best. Freelanders rule. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

    Spare wheel for Freelander 2

Steel 17" is standard on FL2, whatever the road wheel size (if a spare is supplied at all!). Have checked and FL1 wheels do not fit FL2.

    Spare wheel for Freelander 2

This guy often has odd FR2 wheels for sale. Home Page I imagine he would ship to NI.

London Low Emission Zone - LEZ

I know little about this BUT, if you can get it classed as a minibus you should be able to get exemption from Congestion Charge AND use bus lanes. Might be worth the efffort to get the engine made compliant?

CRACKED HEAD Engine runaway - VOSA investigation

Loved the "Land Rover low emissions" Google ad that came up over the top of it!

    Wheel Wobble

This should have been done at balancing, but just in case, check that you don't have a deformed tyre. They can go figure-of-eight shape and produce this symptom (and a lot of tyre wear!). You could also try rotating the spare with each wheel to see if that made a difference. Had this problem...

CRACKED HEAD Engine runaway - VOSA investigation

It boils down to this: Diesels do it. Now that diesels are much more common in cars, learners should be taught how to react and it should be part of the driving test. TD5 engines aren't crap, but they are prone to cracked heads, and a cracked head can cause this, so drivers should be...

Oil light on all the time

First you need to find out if the pressure is low. Fitting an oil pressure gauge shouldn't be a big job. Then you can either ignore the light if the pressure's OK, or think about buying a new engine if it's not.

    locking wheel nut

When I had my FL1 spare wheel nicked I discovered that there are only a tiny number of patterns and you can buy a whole set of keys for less than the cost of a new wheel. Thieves' charter! Locking spare wheel cover seems a good investment.

    Spare wheel for Freelander 2

Tbh I don't know, but you should be able to get a standard FL2 wheel for much less than that, and steel spares for even less. £250 should get you a full set of four alloys!

? Seems a reasonable post to me. And if true, it's another cause we hadn't mentioned.

    fuel in coolant... arghhhhhhhh

No ned to run tank empty. Check your speedo is reading miles not km, then brim the tank, do a few miles, brim it again at the same pump, do the basic maths. Running the tank to empty is not recommended. Only CharlesY gets 600m on a tank!

London Low Emission Zone - LEZ

Like I said, it's about particulates emissions, so petrol vehicles are not involved. You are contributing to global warming, but not directly furring up the lungs of Londoners!:)
