    Low emission zone

I think this has to be done by govt approved firms, of which there are only a few, thus they charge megabucks. It's been said on the forum that, even if you have a converted station wagon, you can get LEZ exemption - might be a cheaper route and worth checking !

    What colour ?

Cheers, Pikey. Dingo only lists the paints but paintscratch.com does have some swatches but they're a bit small - could be Montpellier Red, though, or maybe Cassis ? Here's another one in the same colour...

    What colour ?

Hey Pikey, you should call yourself an undiplomatic envoy ! Search where, exactly ? Spent ages on line looking for colour charts but there don't seem to be any. But yes, I'll try Land Rover again Chris, had a go the other day but ran out of time waiting for 'one of our executives' to pick up...

    What colour ?

Hi Guys, Please can somebody tell me what the official colour of this is ? There's no colour code under the bonnet, plate's just blank, so could it be a special order ? Pretty sure it's the original. Thanks, Anthony

    LEZ and Counties

Just a post-script here: I've got confirmation of the VIN from the vendor and the 7th letter is a B, thus confirming it as a 90 Station Wagon. So I'll have to get DVLA to correct it as it's presumably their error.

    LEZ and Counties

Thanks, Agew - will contact L/Rover as you suggest if the VIN shows the wrong code.

    LEZ and Counties

Many thanks for the useful replies, everyone. I did do a search on LEZ at the outset, but all I got was 'hot sexy singles' or something - surely more interesting but not what I was looking for ! Yes, that car checker does indeed say 'light 4x4 utility' which explains the non-compliance...

    LEZ and Counties

Does anyone have any practical experience / success / failure with TFL as regards Counties ? I'm looking at buying a '93 200TDi which I'm pretty sure is a genuine County (if not, it's a helluva good conversion - wheels, decals, sunroof, seats, headling, radio, all check out) and the VIN...

    Chequerplate

Ah well, mixture of opinions, then, and maybe it does have some uses if you're wont to stand on the wings. Thanks for the reponses, everyone !

    Chequerplate

Been looking for a Defender but they all seem to be covered in chequerplate, which seems to me is a cheap and simple way to ruin a perfectly good Landie. Am I the only one who thinks this way - does it actually serve any useful purpose other than maybe in the load area ?

    What's a good 2.5 petrol 90 worth?

There's a 90 hardtop petrol for sale locally, one owner, 40K, extremely original & unmolested, good but not mint £3000, could doubtless be got for less, maybe £2500. Considering it myself, but really want a 200TDi County swb. Petrol 90s are LEZ compliant which is a plus, LEZ might only...
