    Series 3 1972 88 rear windows

I replaced the rear and middle door channels on my 109SW with Rocky Mountain ones. (As well as the front door tops). Expensive yes, but will probably outlast me. Details here, here and here. Cheers, PM

    Wanted 2.25 diesel engine

+1 agree. Love these engines and if maintained properly, will last for ever. They are very agricultural, which is what they were designed for, but they are of their time and one has to accept that. Mine has never let me down yet. If you want a speed demon, sure it won’t be for you. But then a...

Series 3 diesel timing chain kit

There's been no quibble about the wrong part going back, even though it is from the states. The problem is that I'm still on the look out for a 6 keyway version.........

Series 3 diesel timing chain kit

So it is going back. Return accepted. In discussion with the supplier, I was told they just linked P/N 276133 to ETC 5551 and that there was no difference. One would hope that a classic car specialist would know the difference........

Series 3 diesel timing chain kit

Yes, 68 quid for ETC5551 was expensive.

Series 3 diesel timing chain kit

Just received purchased timing gear and guess what? It's the single keyway version ETC 5551 (formerly 568474). Currently negotiating replacement / return for refund. Not Happy.

Series 3 diesel timing chain kit

Thanks. It will be a while before I get to do mine, but I had been looking out for one of these multi-keyway sprockets for a while, so snapped one up when I came across one. Cheers, PM

Series 3 diesel timing chain kit

I've been looking for one of these for some years, so snapped one up last week when I came across this. They seem to be rare as hens teeth! Like you, I'm looking to do the timing to help sort out smoking issues. There may be other things going on, but the timing has not been done as long as...

    Series 3 Protecting Unfused Circuits

Rob, A lot of that makes sense, particularly in the marine environment. However, in my case, I don't think there is anything as safety critical (It's a series after all) that can't be fused. The horn and the inspection plugs aren't safety critical and if the dipped beams go, I still have the...

    Series 3 Protecting Unfused Circuits

Many Thanks for all your suggestions. I'm still trying to imagine how the fiusebox would fit into the lower dash, as I can't get out to the vehicle at the moment. Maybe this weekend I can take a look. Interesting to understand the rationale behind why certain circuits are unfused. But I still...

    Series 3 Protecting Unfused Circuits

Thank you all for your suggestions. ObiWan, where about are you in VA? Inline fuses behind the dash are a possibility, at least as a new emporary protection. However, FP, i would be interested to see you notes on how you went about fitting the new fuse box (as long as it doesn’t involve...

    Series 3 Protecting Unfused Circuits

Good morning all. So, having introduced Libby on the New members thread, it is time to get down to some work. https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/hello-from-baltimore-md.335032/ I'm sure this has come up before, but after a search, I didn't really find the answer I needed. We all know...

    Hello from Baltimore, MD

Yup, pretty original. Original Chassis (slightly patched, but done well), engine and body work (foot wels renewed). Just a standard Landy that hasn't been messed with. It will get a couple of minor upgrades (LED tail / brake / marker lights, for safety at night, as well as protecting the...

    Hello from Baltimore, MD

Thanks Having lived in Boston when I first came over, then having moved downhere, I'm not sure who I would have rooted for. Red Sox? or Orioles? Probably neither!! She's a little rougher on the inside, as it does get used for farm chores (20 bags of horse dung anyone?). Will gradually bring it...

    Hello from Baltimore, MD

Thought I should add a picture of Libby (the Landy) - the 109SW. .Originally marine Blue, but I had it painted bronze green a few years ago, as it was fading. I had it painted because I suck at painting! And yes, I know the galvanized capping has been painted. Yes, I know it is not a...
