Bought some Conra bucket seats for £40 from a mate of a mate. Got given a big carbon dynamics in line air box for when I plumb the snorkel in and my cousin gave me a chequer bonnet plate and rear corners. Not a bad day I suppose.

I would probably do it the same way too, all of my own wiring I have done is more or less like this other than my spots which are through a relay. If you are planning to add many more things it may be an idea to get an auxillary fuse box that's powered.

Thanks everyone. Will give it another go tomorrow. My engine is a defender unit with a disco turbo and manifolds. The top bolt for the alternator, the long one will have to be cut off as it is obstructed by the exhaust manifold. Will see if I can find a replacement one lying around somewhere.

I'm 17 and insured my 90 as a van with aviva for £1500. That's with 3 points as well. I was quoted £900 before the points. Obviously there will be a difference between my old 90 and a newer td5 or tdci but just gives you an idea. Or just get and older girlfriend with a few years driving...
