What have you done to your Landie today.

On my way home decided to go up a local lane and when I climbed to the top saw steam out of the heater intake, so opened the bonnet had a look and zero coolant in the engine. Bugger. Turns out heater matrix is split somewhere and the coolant is escaping from there, disconnected both heater...

    Headlight switch wiring.

Thanks for the reply Never even thought to check the relay will have a looksy. I assumed the flash had its own feed and just switxhed that onto the main beam. The purple wire which I belive feeds the flash is only at 1v. Blue wire (headlamp feed) is battery voltage. When I pull the flash switch...

    Headlight switch wiring.

The drive from Devon and Yorkshire in the time it would take the new switch will have broken. Nothing actually stopping me making a new fused feed though is there.

I don't think it supplies the headlights just the flasher I think. Its the only permanent live in all of them and goes onto the pin that makes contact with the switch.

    Headlight switch wiring.

Just put my new switch on and still no flasher. The problem is the purple feed. That is what is only 1v. Might try and hook up a new feed from the battery and fuse it separately as oppose to finding the fault with the purple one?

Looks like it will be easier to just get a new switch

What have you done to your Landie today.

Put it on the ramps and pressured washed the chassis for a good hour at least, so pleased to see very little surface rust and a lot of paint still on it. Crossmember looks decent other than a small hole where above the tow bar where my 7 pin plug is.

Battery voltage on the blue wire, 1.5v at the purple wire with the switch pulled.

    Headlight switch wiring.

I suppose the supply must be okay as the full beam works fine anyways. I will check anyway might even have a nosy in a minute seeing as I have lost all the bolts for the steering cowell anyway. Cheers

    Headlight switch wiring.

I've checked voltage after the switch with the flash pulled back and it's only reading 4 volts. I haven't checked before the switch I guess the blue feeds that circuit. Just seems strange that dip and full both work but not with this silly little switch.

    Headlight switch wiring.

I'm afraid the problem is with the headlight flash/pass light light that you pull the stalk towards you for. My fault for being unclear I know that people have a few different names for indicators.

    Headlight switch wiring.

No worries chap, thanks for taking the time to have a nosies anyway. :) I can't get my head around why it won't work. The brown live is live and supplying battery voltage, there's continuity back into the headlight feed as far as i have tested (to the moulded plug off the switch) my full...

    Headlight switch wiring.

Perhaps I should check for voltage After the flasher switch and see what it's kicking out, all I have done is check continuity. I suppose I could check resistance aswell, being just a switch there shouldn't be a lot. Should there?

New here - Realizing my dream of building a NAS spec 90

Your steering wheel should be 36 spline, brookwells do a kit with a new smaller sports wheel and boss for around £60 I think. http://www.brookwell.co.uk/?s=Steering+wheel&submit=GO

What have you done to your Landie today.

No fixing, but bid on some modulars up the road from me on ebay and was winning then lost because SHE wouldn't let me spend anymore on them £58 and they would have been mine! Then whilst driving this happened. Ignore the broken trip gauge  :D
