    Whiper problems.

Contact cleaner would be far more preferable to WD40.

    L322 some advice please

With regards to keys, I think the immobiliser is the same as on BMW cars of similar age in which case some Timpson key cutters can cut a key and program it. Would be cheaper than Land Rover if they can do it.

    P38 2.5D Major leccy booboo

Good luck but a word of caution... The reason the loom melted was that systems it was connected to were drawing far too much current when the reverse voltage was applied. Now provided this was not due to internal short circuits caused by component failure within them, you should be fine. But...

glow plug location td4 freelander HELP

Another useful tip is to get the engine nice and hot before removing them as it makes it a lot easier. If you try to remove them with a cold engine they often snap off which is a pain in the rear. They still can snap when doing it with a hot engine but generally they are slightly easier to...

    Newbie

Welcome. My first Land Rover was a 1.8 petrol Freelander which I have only recently sold. Great little car and generally very reliable. Replaced her with an L322 Range Rover which I am hoping will be as reliable LOL.

    L322 Looking for an L322

X5 is a good car, less tends to go wrong compared to the L322 Range Rover although they do tend to get through brakes and bushes at a fast rate!

    L322 Looking for an L322

As mentioned by Saint.V8, the satnav is unlikely to have been the source of the current drain. In fact I expect that when you reconnect the satnav you will find that it is non functional. The reason is that if you do not allow the satnav system to 'sleep' before disconnecting the vehicle...

    freelander 2

So that confirms it as a feature rather than a fault. Can be coded out of the car if you find it too annoying by a dealer or somebody with a suitable diagnostic tool.

    freelander 2

Try unlocking the car then open and close the drivers door and see if it still does it. Some cars have the feature to autolock if no door opened to guard against accidental unlocking. Normally though the car 'waits' 2 minutes, not 45 sec.

Freelander 1 Air con, is it working or not.

Sounds like you'll be making a trip to Halfrauds then!

Freelander 1 Air con, is it working or not.

Good idea. I remember tha Halfords had a fixed price air con deal running last year whereby if the system failed the vacuum test, they wouldn't charge you. So maybe asking if National AirCon offer the same or similar deal with regards holding a vacuum should be on your list of questions

Freelander 1 Air con, is it working or not.

The best way forward is to select a service where they will not charge you if the system cannot hold a vacuum during the testing phase of the job. In other words, if the system actually has a leak. That way you're not wasting money putting fresh gas into a leaky system which will dump the...

Congratulations, sounds like a good 'un. I've got the td6 diesel but my 'other' car is an E65 BMW with the same petrol engine as the RR you are looking at and its a lovely lump.

    L322 Advice

Do a thorough check of all the electrical gizmos, and take your time. Raise and lower the air suspension and make sure it all works. If the car has been standing for a while then you may get errors such as HDC inactive when first starting which is often down to low battery volts. If the error...

L322 HDC Inactive message on starting

Spent this morning fitting a new battery. Went for the biggest one that is recommended and all seems fine - no HDC bong. Had a couple of initial problems with the EAS showing as 'inactive' but when I put the diagnostic on the car the fault was a CAN bus error which kinda figures since the...

    L322 sat nav disc update

Yes I've used Rusty for my BMW upgrades in the past and also had no problems. He is also very helpful if you hit problems - I recently ordered a disc for my L322 Range Rover and the system refused to acknowledge the fact that a disc was inserted i.e. it was unreadable. No quibble - he will...
