    RR Classic vs P38

Rob...two things : Fett's a really nice chap and, secondly, if you look back, you were the first one to start swearing. Just pack it in. This place isn't usually like this.

    RR Classic vs P38

Yes, please continue. Please tell the nice ladies and gentlemen how reliable the suspension is and all the electricals and if the word 'longevity' comes into play with those, would you? Nice cars, don't get me wrong, but come on.

    RR Classic vs P38

Rob, we all thought that when you started selling ladies sanitary products that you'd calm down a bit. Seems like you like an argument and that you might need some of your own wares at this time of the month? Yes, the words 'P38' and 'longevity' are utterly compatible. You are right. Have a...

    RR Classic vs P38

I think you make some interesting points, Rob, but there's no amount of preparation that would make my life depend on a P38 and I suspect you are in a very small minority there. Hey ho. As I said earlier, we're all different. :D

    RR Classic vs P38

Cheers Fett. I love my Land Rovers but I just sold a Puma 110 which, after three years of family use needed a new axle! A new axle on a three year old car!

    RR Classic vs P38

I don't think that's entirely correct. Sure, that's a good influence and no doubt the Japanese have dominated the Asia Pac market but I think it would also be churlish to not assume that it was for reliability reasons too and that it was this reason that permitted the erstwhile dominance of Land...

    RR Classic vs P38

For me, there is no contest. The RRC is a proper Range Rover and the P38 is a monstrosity. To me, it doesn't matter how it drives, the P38 is the one and only Land Rover of any kind that I have zero desire to own. That's just my taste (or lack of it!) though. We're all different.

Isn't this the most beautiful thing on earth...

    PS.....I believe it's up at £40,000

Isn't this the most beautiful thing on earth...

Yes, it is. Wonderful. It'd be a shame to drive it which is a shame in itself. (Eh?)

Are mud tyres suitable for winter use and on roads?

Personally, I wouldn't bother for full mud tyres for the type of driving you are doing. They are much noisier than All Terrains. I had General AT2s on my Defender and they coped with pretty much anything I threw at it, including some fairly serious mud. They were also as quiet as the standard...

Insa Turbo Ranger or Insa Turbo Traction Track?

Aren't these remoulds, INSA? I always think remoulds are dangerous although it could be that they're safe but don't last as long. I had the General AT2 on my Defender and it was great on road and off road.

    Who can recondition my LT95?

I'm making enquiries, guys. Watch this space!

    Who can recondition my LT95?

Some joker has quoted £2k to have it reconditioned! Fark that! £450 seems pretty fair. I'm gonna get my guy to give them a call. Did they have them in stock?

    recomend a good wax

Be wary of the difference between polish and wax. Polish is probably what you want after you've done a clay bar wash and then put on the wax afterwards.

    Who can recondition my LT95?

Thanks a lot everyone. I'll keep you posted. Would prefer to keep it original really.

    Who can recondition my LT95?

I'm in Hampshire but the gearbox can be sent anywhere.

    Who can recondition my LT95?

I think I have an LT95 gearbox in my 1981 2 door. It's making all sorts of noises and needs rebuilding. It has overdrive. Anyone know a good place to get this done professionally?

    Range Rover Classic

The irony of a regular on here pulling someone up for spelling and then not being able to spell 'paedophile' himself! Hilarious! 2,000 is quite rare, Phill. I wonder if this makes them much rarer than the soft dash RR?

I've got a new (to me) Range Rover Classic!

How's the wood in it, Mike? Mine was pretty worn - the bit that surrounds the gear stick was cracked and faded. So I had it reveneered for about £200 and it looked absolutely wonderful afterwards.

I've got a new (to me) Range Rover Classic!

Whatever it is, Mike, I can tell you that it is lovely. Congratulations! It's a different colour green to my Autobiography but the interior is just the same. I want my old one back now!
