    Your Fuel cleaner thoughts....

At risk of appearing foolish - I put some Comma stuff in just after I bought mine and "felt" that the engine ran a little smoother. I will buy some more at some point. There, I've said it! A good speedy blast on a motorway may do the same thing though.

Front mud flap inner stud plate.

Richard, Your diagram shows seperate screws 8(?) not a plate with 3 studs that sits under the carpet with the studs passing through the floor, which is what I've got. Your hi-lited bracket is the one under the floor. Thanks, though. Dave, I'll have a look at Island. Cheers.

Front mud flap inner stud plate.

Hi, Guys. Is the plate with the three studs on that goes through the floor pan to secure the front mud flaps availabe form anywhere? I guess I am calling it something different to its official LR name and that is why I can't find it. Massive irony here as I am a Land Rover engineer!

    Hot Hubs and Squeeling Bearings

NOT WD40! WD40 has a detrimental effect on rubber seals and the like. I use a green plastic abrasive washing-up pad to clean pistons, washed off with meths. Silicon spray is ok I believe as a lube, red rubber grease(silicon?) is obviously prefered.

service issue any ideas Please ?

Hi I have had good service from Town & Country LandRover in Cubbington Nr Leamington Spa. I like to think I am quite handy myself and these boys came over as both knowledgable, helpfull and reasonably priced. I'll be going back there for my bits and pieces and anything that I don't fancy...

    Tdi 300 rear lights.

My Disco has got the rear light set-up where the tail lights & indicators are in the bumper and the brake, fog & reverse are in the rear qtr cluster. I have seen previous and post MY vehicles with the "safer" set up with indicators & tail lights in the cluster. I fancy converting mine to this...

Few Probs on a 1994 ES

Loss of power in freezing conditions

I would check the heater/glow plugs. These come on to start but do not go straight off once the motor is running but remain on to warm the air up as it enters, I believe. Once everything warmed up the air temp going in would have less effect. Or.. the filter &/or the water trap(sedimenter)...

    300 tdi shuddering under acceleration

I just did my tappets and that smoothed out my Discovery no end. They were a bloody mile out, one valve cap missing and one turned into a polo.

Wet X member under rad rh side.

Not had it long but have flushed the coolant system and stuck new anti-freeze solution in. No sign of over heating yet and the heater is toasty.

Wet X member under rad rh side.

The obvious thought is radiator but just wondering if this rings any bells with anyone? Does the water pump have a vent for when water is getting past the first seal/bearing like others I have come across? I've had a squeel or two. Its a 300 tdi with air con. Coolant level going down in the...

    Universal joints advice needed

Have to confess this is something I have heared on a forum (but it sounds legit) don't pump the slip joint FULL of grease or the shaft will have nowhere to go and will cause undue forces on the UJs. "Changing UJs is a piece of ****" And so is knocking 3 needle bearings into the bottom of the...
