    2.25 5 brg or 2.5 petrol engine

Hi peeps. I am looking for an engine to fit into my total rebuild 88. A 2.25 or 2.5 petrol is what I am after. So long as nothing has exploded because it will also be rebuilt to as new or better. I can collect with trailer and engine crane. I am based in Bedfordshire but will travel to...

Wanted. 2.25 5 brg petrol engine.

    Exhaust options

If you get the chance, try and get a 4-2-1 exhaust header. These work a lot better for torque at the rpms of a 2.25 over the 4-1 headers often used. Ashley exhausts used to do them. Not chea but you wll find them on ebay. A bigger exhaust pipe will help with power, yes, by only about 2 or 3...

Not a hope mate! LOL. Your front bumper has been bent/modified to allow additional ground clearance and steeper approach angle. Tyres too big unless you are a 1 ton or forward control. Rear auto diff locker instant ban. And after the scrutineer picks himselfoff the floor from laughing so...

I now have a car I like to drive again. No more half shaft breaking clanging, screaching tyres, dodgy handling or black lines left on the floor in the car parks. I swapped out my kaiser locking diff and can now pull into a car parking space without having a crowd stare at me! I will...

If you want to distinguish hub bearing play from any other play then simply have someone put there foot hard on the brakes and that will "remove" hub bearing play. Let go the brakes and you will have movement again. This is hub movement (assuming your wheel nuts are not loose). Check top to...

I once timed myself when competing in a trial. Driving to and back home from the event 2 hours 15 mins. On site attendance at the event 6 hours. Competative driving time 11 mins! That was that and then I started Competative safari with the AWDC. Each single lap was a lot more time...

Its a sweet engine mate. Honest!

The pistons are handed left bank and right bank (Not all pistons are handed but these ones are). No I dont mean the con rods. The pistons have been set right on the rods, but the front 4 pistons have been fitted with their thrust side on the wrong side. Probably fine for low rpm but higher...

Its a sweet engine mate. Honest!

Stripped down an engine today. Described as reconditioned and one of the "sweetest engines" heard running. The idea is to rebuild it with competition in mind. The block has been rebored and crank reground with lots of new bits and cleaning done. This should be a quick rebuild and I am only...

Getting the most out of a 2.25 diesel

If you factor in the cost of gas installation and then the hassle factor of bits breaking, additional servicing required, less power than petrol and you might not think gas is such a good move unless you do more than 25k miles a year!

By tank slapper do you mean the steering wheel jumping back and forth and the front axle jumping as if driving at speed over sharp sleeping policemen set just 1 foot apart??? If you dont have any tools the simplest way to check for battery drain is to turn off everything and keep the keys in your pocket. Then disconnect the battery and check for very small sparks as you touch the earth lead back onto the battery. Sparks equals current drain. The proper way would be...
