Hi all, today I picked up a new key for my FL1 from my local LR dealer, they of course checked my reg. and took a copy of my log book and driving licence for ordering purposes however although the new key is a perfect copy of the key itself it won't start the car, I'm assuming there is a problem...

From memory I think it's 36 mm, if not it's 32mm

Hiya, reading this prompted me to reply-I'd assumed my air con needed re gassing as it doesn't get any colder than the normal cool setting on the fan but I haven't had the indicator illuminating at all :-/

Cheers, I've tried pushing the lighter out from behind after moving the heating controls to one side but it wouldn't shift :-/ Will try out your suggestion though.

Does the car have matched tyres?, if they are mismatched then get them changed ASAP-at least the rears anyway, read the numerous threads on VCUs and you'll see how important tyres are to preserving the VCU.

Hi all, I need to change the bulb on the fag lighter in my Td4, I've followed the instructions in the Haynes manual but I'm buggered if I can get the lighter body out to get to the bulb, any clues?.....please..... :-)

In last few days I've changed a rear lens (old one cracked) and treated the old girl to a new 'Freelander' badge on the rear door and today I should be receiving my roof rails (3door) purchased for £115 delivered, cheapest I've seen so far.

So far the biggest issue with my Hippo is the remote central locking, I've tried replacing the sensor on top of the speedo, tried replacing the fob with a new one programmed to the car and tried the sequence of turning the key in the lock all to no avail :-( Glad I got a 3 door so far as no...

Look on YouTube there's a video of someone fitting a blanking plate but for now I'd just unbolt the whole propshaft and remove but leave the prop/IRD flange in place, if it turns out that your VCU is shot you can replace it for around £250 with bearings and you'll still have 4wd.

Ermm ok let's work that out then..... As I do less than 3000 miles a year I'll just keep an eye on tread depths and if I get a puncture get the tyres sorted ASAP after. Thanks for helpful replies guys

Hiya, yes I fitted it myself but to be honest this was done before I'd spotted the thread about refurbishing them yourself and didn't take any notice, if I remember I will crawl under and see if there are any obvious signs of what they did and post back-probably won't be today though.
