On mine there was a spacer(included) you had to fit if you removed the tow point. But that might depend on the manufactor.

Today i have wired up the power fold mirrors to fold/unfold on the keyfob(superlock). Everything is working as it should do. I even made a youtube video just to show off :D FL1 keyfob power fold I dropped the 2 relay configuration and this is the final wiring schematic with only one relay:

Just made a little change for the possibility to turn off superlock folding if needed.

This is how im gonna wire up my power fold mirrors to the keyfob. It will fold/unfold on drivers door "superlocked"; "not superlocked" and manual via the fold button.

Back doors from a specific Rolls Royce(dont remember which, but possible everyone.) will work. There is a Bosch relay you also can use. I can source the specific info if youre interested when im home tomorrow if this is something you wanna do. I also had auto up and down on a 2006 Citroen Berlingo.

Yeah, thats how they are supposed to work on the Freelander. I just believed it was supposed to work both up & down.

On yours its not very hard to get a window lift ECU from another car that have auto up and auto down. But the 2004-2006 has the window lift ECU in the switch panel.

You can clearly see that your IRD knackered on the pictures. So its not likely that your gearbox is stripped as well IMO.

Yes a "new" IRD is probably enough to get you back on the road until VCU is sorted.
