Landrover dealership
or ask any landrover parts supplier to upgrade to more expensive items
there is always the option but no one ever does it because they are so tight :)
Use a BLOS mixer they are superb
You wont need the feedback from a lambda sensor system
all you need is tank/filler, pipes, varouriser, blos, emulators, switch and various wires and pipes to connect the above
Yes you can fit the 4.6
add the front cover/sump/inlet manifold and away you go
other than that the rest of the p38 and infact most on the road belong IN the scrapyard:)
Not worth it, aside from anything else 155k is barely run in for a tdi
If its never had a headgasket its about due for one however, and i would change the rocker caps. Its a few pounds but it could save you some hassle furthur down the line
hope that helps
It sounds like diesel knock,
only thing i can say is test your glow plugs are working
and compare it to someone elses td5 or ask someone more experienced to listen to it
It sort of does make hgf more expensive because if the head has to be skimmed.
The cylinder head takes longer to dissasemble and is very complicated for your average mechanic
Those in the know can do it easy but it might just nudge the cost up
Buy one brand new not reconditioned.
Britpart distribute new ones so any big landrover place.
they aint cheap but you get what you pay for with this sort of thing
also fit GKN carrier bearings the the cheap ones are not good
Tdis use a composite gasket, make sure you replace it with the same type (3 hole)
you dont need to skim the head unless it needs it
(if the engine has been boiled and the head warped or its been blowing badly and caused damage)
otherwise wet sand the block and plonk it staight back on
it...
Have a look at the bracket, it might have broken allowing it to pop out
These are a common failure
the replacements are cheap and easy to fit
even the britpart ones are OEM and make by AP
hth
Yes they have, i saw one once!
Basically the cylinder head gives it the extra power.
It has larger inlet and exhaust valves
Larger ports
different exhaust manifold/twin downpipe
larger alloy inlet plenum and 52mm throttle body
different profile exhaust camshaft
Variable Valve Control on...
You must be daft if you buy a vehicle with mot thats been clocked
its free to check an mot history with the dvla and it flags up any problems
the only people i can see who could genuinely be fooled are breakers and people buying used spares
'this came off a range with 50k on the clocks etc etc'
