    Clutch problem

Is the pedal stying all the way down? Is there any 'pressure' in it or is it just floppy? Still sounds like air in the system.

    Freelander 1.8 problems !

Wish I could help but reading through all the suggestions on here I'm out of ideas. Timing still needs to be eliminated.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Replaced 3 brake pipes, 1 flexi and coolant bottle. Then new MOT! Had to use a Vauxhall hose as I couldn't get a Freelander one. Wasn't exactly the same and the caliper needed a wee bit fettling to allow the connection to sit in square. But it's the same length and did the job. Also £10 quid...

    Freelander 1 Alternative Parts List

This thread kind of went off at a tangent! I think it's a good idea but needs to be a spreadsheet or other document that can be updated and downloaded when needed. I just fitted a vauxhall Sigma front hose to my Hippo cos I couldn't get a Freelander one quick enough. It's the same length but...

    Am I a bit strange?

I mean REALLY looking forward to tinkering with the beast! Everything I've done so far has been very easy. Even resealing the exahaust...

Freelander 1 Coolant bottle - advice or opinions please

Doing some tinkering tonight I found the coolant had "crazing" around the neck. (See pic). Whats your thoughts? Normal? Need replaced? Set fire to it and then claim a big boy did it and ran away?

What have you done to your Freelander today

Today I have mostly been... Fitting reverse sensors Sealing leaky exhaust joint Replacing propshaft bearing. That was a challenge because someone has had it off before and had cracked a yoke. This gave some play because a cup was able to "float ". But was able to weld it shut. So she is still...

    Greenlaning..in 2 wheel drive?

I'm planning to build a 'toy' car this year. But it won't be a Landy. (Sorry!) It's probably going to be based on a new VW beetle. Jacked up, beefier suspension, lightened, etc.etc. Anyway... has anyone here done any greenlanes in FWD or 2 wheel drives? Is it really just a case of finding...

    Freelander 1 1.8 clutch probems

Yes james. Forgot that one. But as clutch worked BEFORE changing hydraulics I would put that further down the list for now. Hopefully!

    Freelander 1 1.8 clutch probems

As Alibro says, can we be sure there was no air in system?
  18. Flying Scotsman!

    Freelander 1 1.8 clutch probems

Right, lets look at this logically. The clutch is dragging with pedal pressed down. That can be caused by; 1. Master not moving far enough and therefor enough fluid moving 2. Slave not moving far enough Both the above can be caused by 1. Lack of fluid, 2. air in system or 3. slave bracket in...
